Well let's see what a DAC can get you in-game. MONEY. Maybe a lot, who knows. With that, you can buy basically anything on the market, including ships others have built, resources, locations to who-knows-what. What Can't a DAC buy? A crew. Coding skills. Building skills. (Talking not in-game skills.) Without those ^^^^^^^^^ You can't fly some of the ships you buy, you can't build one (A good one), and good luck getting to that location without one. So I don't foresee DAC's becoming anywhere near Pay-To-Win. You can drop $1000 to buy a battleship, but it'll end up being just an empty metal can.

In addition to that, at the start, we will only be able to reach a few planets. We won't be able to expand until certain advances are made. Basically, we won't have any trouble finding each other.

I don't know about having an "inert" timer. Everytime I do Sodoku, it definitely takes me more than 4 seconds to fill in a square, because I always first go along an mark what each box can or cannot be, as it helps me visualize, and may end up leading me directly to the solution.

That is because there's only one shard, that which we all play on (As I'm sure you know). As for not knowing who role-plays and who does not, you're looking in the wrong place. Go to the organization page, and scroll through the hundreds of organizations that are listed. Find one that does RP, and join them. Problem solved.

I can answer this The answer is that the extreme cold on hoth prevented most ships from functioning successfully out in the cold, for periods longer than just transport ships fleeing. The snowspeeders were indeed adapted ships (As most of their stuff is), outfitted the best the rebels could to work in the cold, but they occasionally still had problems. Would they work on Tatooine? Maybe, but they'd probably need to install specialized filters to keep the sand out of the engine. "I hate sand. It's course, rough, and it gets everywhere."

While the kickstarter was still going, they did a thing where you could add the price of a DAC to what you were paying for the pledge level, and you would be given additional DAC's later with the game. They could probably just do this again.
