  2. If there is a FIRST CITY Project on the way...well I like to join in. But I have to stress is that a TRUE city has a life of its own, independent of organizations or groups. If the cities that are on the works tether to the needs of the organizations then they have a constraint there.....time will tell most defently.
  3. The Foundations of civilization is citi building, we need to think on how to make a city with the political and social structure to work...a city state. Before building we need to make this happen. Maybe take the chat to a Slack to streamline it.....but either way...cities will be build...the first one is the Genesis.

  5. City Name: "PRIMA" tba (keep it short and simple) Urban Grid: Concentric rings, since districts will be on a circular pattern Services: Markets, Shops....Military We need to make a post just on the FIRST CITY of DU
  6. I kind of like the concentric ring city idea..... rings and quadrands.......Ring 1, quadrant 3.....ring 8...cuadrant 4
  7. >>>>>>>>>>>>>> PLEASE DONT FOLLOW UP THIS POST <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< I double posted for some reason...please follow up this topic in https://board.dualthegame.com/index.php?/topic/10097-city-planners-urban-planners-zone-planning/ if a admin could merge the two would be great...
  8. This is a great idea...but in a way a floating city is more like a ship than a statistical place like a normal city. It need power to move, power to be at float.....take a RL military carrier for example or a cruise ship....its a city in many ways. For me if it moves...its a ship....if it does not its a station or a city. For a true floating city to be it would have to have 95% of the time to be statical....and just move to reallocate to a new place....lets say it can only move once a week or month or so. Cities are defensive by nature since there very statical.....so if you can move it there is no need to have sieges.....it will be a moving ship warfare..... Dont get me wrong here i like the idea...its just that it needs to have some constraints in order to be called "City"
  9. When you build a ship you need a basic idea of the ship that you are building....when you are building a space station you need a basic plan or idea to build that....but cities are dynamical buildings come and go....infrastructure is upgraded and updated and so on. This topic looks to address the issue of the complicated thing that a city is, a start of a conversation in to making the most basic of things in a city urban planning. On a more basic level cities are organize districts then in Lots. DU needs to adress this from the start if it wants to make cities that really stand out. One owner per lot. City / District / Lot is the break down structure that i see the most simple to go. A idea is for example: Small City - 5 Districts / 5 lots per district Medium City - 10 Districts / 10 lots per district Large City - 20 Districts / 20 lots per district Also the ability to mode hole buildings from lot to lot, lets say that you made a industrial district and you want to move it to a bigger city or in the same regard a Small City upgraded to larger city..... Will right more on the topic...just wanted some feed back from the community on the idea.

  11. i've search the forums for any spanish speakers that wished to have some guidance of DU there is non, that is why and the purpose of this post. If you don't speak spanish there is no need to get in this thread. Not all speak fluent english and in a way if you want to make a game about the human race, that in a way has to deal with multiple cultures and languages. This is only a post to help guide does that do not speak english that well. its is not intended to be a statement or a posture on culture or gamewise localization....just that a post in spanish for spanish speakers that's all.
Saludos y espero conocerles! Aqui Juvenius.

    Arena PVP

The Idea here is to have ARENA PVP in space or in land....be it a coliseum, or a field or a space area.....ARENA PVP should have a block to start.....this block will have an area. This is diferent than contested territories since in Arena PVP you don't lose your ship or armor or what not....just to test your abilites....a fee in currency or in materials to enter....tax it....the winner takes the rest.
