its pretty bad that as a thank you for being a contributor and long term supporter of the game they gate contributor backers behind a pay wall.  In fact, its not possible for a contributor backer to get the exotic pack as its not possible to buy 13 months game time...

Why NQ thought this was a good idea is beyond me.  Contributor backers will always be 6m TP behind as a result.  Some people say it doesnt matter, but in the early game, the first couple of years, it does, especially as a builder that sells ships with boosts.

The whole wipe fiasco was bad enough.... only NQ have the unique skill set required to make that even worse...

You can add game time codes on top of whatever package. So if you really wanted that exotic pack, you could apply 12 month GTC and a 1 month GTC.

    Already bored with you...

On a serious note, something isn't applying in VR sessions when calibrating and starting an MU. Don't know what though. I got about 67% better results when I was there in person. Might be some of the skills, might me the bonuses from the already placed MU with max handling skills.

Majority of talents don't carry over in VR.

@Jomanda as far as I know, nobody needs to start paying territory taxes for another 11 days.

If you think you could bootstrap yourselves with the right equipment, and if you'd like to continue playing, then you can borrow the equipment you need from me until you're up and running. Mining units, containers, territory scanner, things like that. And an atmo hauler to sell your stuff at the markets. Just let me know.

New tile claims get taxed after 3 days.

In general, you currently need to mine 120L/hr of any ore off of a tile to be able to pay for the territory taxes over a week. But, since you only have 3 days for a new claim, you instead need to mine 300L/hr of ore. This works for the time being because all T1 ore sells for more than 50q/L.

If you don't plan on doing mining, or if 300L/hr is too much, I would suggest downsizing to 1 tile for mining and industry, and keeping the other 2 tiles as HQ tiles.

Did not want to pull the "welcome the new CEO" off topic so I'm posting separate..

A new CEO is potentially good.. It may mean NQ found some money to pay what seems to be an established game producer as CEO.

Nouredine Abboud is a game producer with some decent titles to his credit but nothing like Dual Universe which is a very different beast alltogether. Also, what makes him CEO material from being a producer. I gueess we'l lhave to wait and see.

It's interesting for sure and could go either way, for now I gueess I'll be cautiously optimistic but if the core attitude and behavior of NQ (especially in regards to how they engage and communicate with their community) does not change, this will not make much difference.

What I'd like to know is how this will fit in the plans, as he is from France/in Paris, does NQ plan to keep two expensive locations running?

Then, what is hiding in plain sight is this; "As we reach the final stretch leading to the launch"

Not sure but it would be interesting when the rest of the game will be brought in, before or after this "launch"

And with the rest of the game, I meean (among other things and in no particular order):

    • Territory warfare
    • AvA, CvA and AvC combat
    • Player Markets
    • New solar systems
    • Stargates
    • pets

I do not see how NQ will be able to hit a 2021 deadline for release so I guess that means they are shooting for Q1 2022.

I believe a large part of the development team is still in France, as well as Accounts and Billing.

As for launch period, their last estimate was mid 2022.

Sorry, I'm sure I'm an idiot but I've looked everywhere to try to download the PTS client. Every client I download in from my account page is the same client installer that I download from the LIVE game. Everyone says its a different client but I've now downloaded the same client 11 times that says its the PTS client download button.

    Thanks for any help!

The installer does have the same name, but it should install the PTS client.

That sounds like NQ has now resorted to duct tape to keep the game somewhat functional ..

Sounds pretty logical. Otherwise you run into the issue of your charges going from 10 -> 5 -> 10 when popping in and out of VR as well as the time to gain a new charge changing from 6 hrs -> 3.5 hrs -> 6 hrs.

I believe Entropy said and I am paraphrasing here but; "If you don't have money in your account to pay the taxes then bad things will happen". This to me suggests they will (like the government) just take it from your account to pay the taxes unless there is no quanta there.

In the video you can see that each of your territories has a wallet that the fees will be withdrawn from. If there's no quanta in the account, then it goes through the different stages of non-payment.

So, to answer the other person's question, it does look like you'll be able to prepay some amount of your territory's fees.

  8. There seems to be conflicting information on that. The most recent change (October 19th) says this:

Bug Fixes • Fixed a bug where a destroyed construct immediately stops and does not move until it is repaired.

So seems like they're supposed to move.

Who gets the tax revenue from the territories in the end? Didn't you want to build the game on a player basis, a player-driven economy and player-based decisions? Now they are imposing a fantasy tax on us players just to take Quanta out of the game? I find it unimaginative to just impose this tax across the board. I could understand it if you had to fight for planets, whoever settles there pays a corresponding tax to the ruling alliance/organisation,....but just taking quanta out of the game across the board without a player being able to defend themselves against this tax or influence it?
In the past, territories were distributed to settlers - that didn't cost any money - and in the past, people simply took land and claimed it, which also didn't cost any money or taxes. Why is something like this demanded in a game as something self-evident or normal?

The quanta was also injected into the game by NQ so I don't see it as too crazy to assume that they will also implement ways of getting it removed out of the game.

What are the exact limits for how many mining units I can have?
Because I think people will just claim 20 territories per planet with 6 mining units each, quickly turning the game into creative mode, unless I misunderstood something.

As many as you want, but each tile has a max output and eventually your mining units will decrease in efficiency. Increasing your mining units efficiency is what is limited. You can only start the minigame if you have a time refillable charge available. So you could have 1000 mining units with 10 percent efficiency getting the max the tile can give, or you could have 10 with 100 percent if you use your charges to keep them there.
