  1. Why don't you quote one of my statements where I said fair? You just made up an entire story around my name, just so you can jump into the conversation with... whining about work in a game, which is valid. I have never said anything about fair. I wanted us to keep our BP, i'm glad we get to keep our BP. And I have said several times, that knowledge of the game and where to put your TP and what sells the best is advantage enough. This is all about new players and keeping them. No one needs a massive advantage over new players. With our BP and knowledge we have enough. U As for work, that is a valid argument and we should be talking it. That is NQ's fault. I agree with you on that. I made a post on how the mining units are terrible and feel like a work every few days. Whining about the world being unfair, I didn't say that, again you just made that up. This isn't about you paying for territories, this is another example of making a nonsense excuse on why you should keep your massive advantage that you got while the game was broken. There was plenty of opportunities to use exploits to cheat the system into becoming a billionaire. But of course, not you... you did all legit, no alts, no exploits, no cheating, right? Just good old fashion hard work. /smh
  2. The wipe is not to attract new players, how would they even know? The release of the game is to attract new players, the wipe is to keep as many as possible. What your doing is twinking and seal clubbing and now trying to justify it. All the data around twinking and seal clubbing is that it is a bad experience for low level or new players and it makes people not want to play. Correct me if im wrong, but there is no example of twinking and seal clubbing increasing the players of a game, only decreasing. Happened in WoW with twinking in BG's and open world pvp. Happened in world of tanks with tier 2 tanks. WoW and WoT had to make changes to limit or get rid of twinking and seal clubbing for the health of the game. Every open world pvp survival game turns into a seal clubbing game. It's not just pvp based either, it is also economy based when gamers want to monopolize or corner a market with their massive advantage, and it causes players to not want to compete. This is not new, you pretending to not know is also not new. You want to twink and go seal clubbing and your trying to hide it behind nonsense excuses.
  3. No one said this. If I was done with the game I wouldn't be here. Everyone that is here is not done with this game. I came in to see the changes, now I'm waiting to see the final release version. No one said that a wipe will magically make new players. The release of the game will bring in new players, the wipe will keep the most here. What do you think the definition of dying means? You literally defined dying. The dictionary definition is; approaching death. Which we both correctly defined. You get to keep your BP. More importantly, the game... is approaching death. Your time and effort is being traded in for the best chance at survival.
  4. ok, ill see where this is going. I stopped at .23, then came back to see changes and already canceled my sub. I have spent about $90 on the game. And a lot of time. Fun time, until .23 I'm not an alpha tester, or DAC holder. Your move.
  5. His post was meant to call me crazy because I claim that knowledge is advantage enough in a video game. His post was not an opinion piece. We are all whining, but whining over losing your massive unfair advantage is the worst kind. You are also whining, welcome to the conversation.
  6. You are going to pay for 5 accounts after launch? You where the same guy that tried to use 1 account as the reason to be upset. That's $75 a month... on an unfinished game whos odds are not looking good. $75... a month. Anyone can spend their money anyway they want. But when you justify to yourself that $75 a month, to have an advantage in unfinished game, is a good idea... no one should every take your advise on weather the game wipes or doesn't. You are not leaving the game, wipe or no wipe. You are coming in hot, ready or not.
  7. That is not what is happening. This picture your painting is not the current DU. You are missing the part where the game is dying. You are missing the part where this is a video game. You had to graduate from a school before you could play DU? You got hustled, because I just logged in one day and started playing. You are comparing real life fortune, to a fortune you attained in a unfinished, broken, easily exploited game? What kind of acrobatics did your brain have to do to allow you to type that out? Whining about losing everything? you anti-wipers and not whining about losing 'everything', you are whining about losing your massive advantage. All your righteous posts of why not to wipe are just bullshit. They never make any sense. Just like this post. You missed some important things, and your comparisons are so far off, but you did it on purpose to try and add weight to your no-wipe nonsense.
  8. What are you doing here? Flexing your Trekkie muscles? This is the wrong place and the wrong time. If you read my whole post, the point I was making with ion engines is to upgrade from wings and liquid fuel to actual futuristic space ships. Go home Trekkie your drunk. You are comparing a loan to a purchase? Because he paid $80 and got 2 years of the service he paid for. That is nothing like a loan... My response was based on him crying over getting 2 years of service for ONLY $80. NQ is not forcing anyone to pay anything, they are not threatening, blackmailing, or holding a gun to anyones head. If you are unhappy with what you got for $80, and then spend another $80, and another $80... That's addiction, that's a you problem. No one is happy. We are all frustrated and most of us are in different levels of anger. What posts are you reading that radiate happiness? You're just making things up here to feed your post. Everyone is calling out NQ for everything, except flight mechanics, as I see it. Again, you're just making things up. The trust, and promise, parts are the hardest to understand. How do you get there? Do you not realize the game is dying? The 'ship' is headed towards an iceberg, the captains are in full panic and are preparing to change course. We are unable to go to the island that was promised but we are shooting for a different island. You, and others, are pissed off that your not going to make it to the island that was promised and demand that the ship stay on course. Brother... get off the ship. Get on a life boat and paddle yourselves away into the nothingness. Please, for the love of rnJesus, get off this ship. PVP needs to be thrown into BG's, or put on a shelf. It's terrible. Mastering networking and basic factory, building, mining, is more important. This here makes sense, but Mastering networking and basic factory, building, mining, is more important. Then I would agree that questing would be next.
  9. Your post was about not getting your moneys worth, I don't understand the gay part, but we can drop it. What I don't get is why a wipe bothers anyone, at THIS point. It's not about being equal to other players, or everyone starting from zero again. It is about the release of a game, and attracting the most players that you can. Then keeping them. Everyone knows that in a few months, everyone that is ahead now will be ahead again. So the advantage is not lost, it is temporarily removed. This will make the game attractive to the most players as possible. New players are never going to be happy with people being so far ahead. But in a healthy game, 2 years after release, you can afford to lose some/win some. But at launch? no, you cannot afford to lose players for something as trivial as an advantage that will be regained in a few months. The only permanent loss was going to be the BP, but that has been solved. The promises don't matter anymore, it's about saving the game. They are running out of money and time, now they have no choice but to change course on some things, or everything, whatever is going to give the game the best chance to survive. Which is why they removed schematics. I don't like it, I think they just had to lower the prices 10 fold or more. We get to keep our BP, that should have been a warm welcome but instead it just became one less thing to complain about. The only thing left are points, claims, and quanta, the real advantages in the game, that you get back in a few months. Help me understand why your advantage is more important than the health of the game?
  10. You want to keep as much stuff as you can fit into one territory, and all your talent points, and 5 BILLION quanta?? You need this far of a lead to be successful in a video game?? You have the knowledge of how the game works, where to put your points, and what makes the most money the fastest... and that's not enough? how does a wipe, wipe your creativity? They said you can save your BP. How is that not enough? 2k on a PC? that's a solid PC with or without DU. That's a positive anyway you spin it.
  11. This. I haven't seen anyone say it as short and as sweet as this post. That promise, let it go. I ran out of hearts Metsys, or I would heart your post.
  12. I understand. But you are not taking into consideration that the game is dying. We are now at point where we are going to have a game, or not having a game. It's going to happen fast. Are you willing to kill the game if it means an advantage in talents. Knowledge of how the game works and where to put your points is advantage enough, and doesn't scare away new players. Making several alts should not be taken into consideration, because that's whaling. Maybe not whaling, but at $15 dollars a month, how many alts can you really have? Subscriptions are a hard sale to begin with. NQ has to somehow sell an unfinished game for a monthly sub of $15... that is no easy feat. Paying for multiple $15 a month accounts, just to have an advantage, in an unfinished game, that's borderline gambling addiction... That's not a new player problem, or an NQ problem, that's a addict problem.
  13. You have been paying for 24 months. that's 10 for 3 months. That is 8 payments of 10 dollars, which is $80. I am going to make the assumption that you are a man. I am also a man. I don't know how old you are, but I am in my 40's. I can look back to when I was 16 years old until now and I can say that I have spent significantly more than $80 at one time on dumber things, more times than I can remember or am willing to share. If you're a man, so have you. If $80 got you 2 years worth of gaming and it is too much, your priorities are in the wrong place my friend. This game the least of your problems.
  14. I am unable to see the reality in your post. Factory - This is the biggest part of the economy. Who do you think will corner the market first? the new player or the the player with tier 5 talents? PVP - who do you think will have an advantage? the new player or the the player with tier 5 talents? Mining - who do you think will have an advantage? the new player or the the player with tier 5 talents? How will 'having' tier 5 talents help new players? The experience of having had tier 5 talents would be helpful enough when you share the knowledge. New players not playing because of OP players at start? This is huge in a time based talent system. Yes, people will stop playing, it's guaranteed. It's not, will they stop playing, but how many. New players not knowing you have max talents - In no way, shape, or form, will this game be able to keep the secret that some players have maxed out talent trees.
  15. Let me ask: If you knew for a fact that keeping your skills results in less new players, how many players are you comfortable in losing to keep your skills?
  16. We are playing a futuristic space game. The thought of slapping a bigger alternator into my space ship just does not compute. The Enterprise runs on ion engines. Why not introduce ion engines?? tier 1-3 space only, with tier 4-5 able to work in atmosphere. Then we can do away with engines and wings and start building some true spaceships. Making it a tier 5 upgrade that runs on fuel cells, so we have to mine for uranium and plutonium, and making fuel engines and fuel extremely inefficient. One connection per fuel tank, lower the amount the fuel tanks can hold, increase fuel consumption, lower the amount of power on all engines, add weight to the wings. Something that makes sense in a futuristic space game. I'm getting nightmare visons of going to autozone, in the year 7474, in a beat up space ship to pick up my new 12000 amp alternator to finally bump my 100 million quanta subwoofers... are we being serious? how is this 'power' going to scale? with the engines? the core? how is the core getting so much power? Does it run out? If the core has so much power, why not run the ship on power alone?
  17. Are you being serious? Go run your fuel car, with no fuel. Fuel turns the alternator and charges the battery. The fuel does the work. Your car, runs on fuel. Fuel = running car. Battery does not equal running car, in a car that runs on fuel. A tesla has no fuel. It runs on power. Power = running car. Fuel does not equal running car in a battery powered car. Hybrids are overly expensive abominations that have all the down sides of electric cars and are dependent on..... fuel. The devs are not talking about adding bigger alternators to the engines to support your sound system. They are clearly talking about a separate power source. If you take the battery, motor, and electrical components of a tesla and shove it into a dodge ram to add it to the fuel system and fuel engine, it would be an abomination, it would make no sense. Do that to a passenger plane and it becomes the most inefficient flying machine. All battery or all fuel but not both. I get you want to defend the system. But don't do what your doing here. You're cherry picking tiny pieces of a big puzzle to win an argument.
  18. Then why have fuel? Fuel or power, but not both. Makes no sense. Unless power is a tier 5 upgrade to be superior to fuel but with limitations on ship design. Not both.
  19. I don't get why power management would come to ships. There is already fuel. Fuel is the power management. If we get a nuclear or dark matter power source upgrade that does away with fuel, that would make sense. But, I don't get why fuel is not enough pwr mngt for ships. Give pwr mngt to static cores.
  20. Just make the BP that are saved single use. After the first construct is build with these 'saved' BP, then you can make a core BP. That way the builders still have to save up to build it like everyone else. They save time for not having to redesign, but they don't flood the market with BP right away.
  21. I'm coming back to see how things are with the new changes and i'm not impressed. I got my mining units up and running and did the calibration thinking the quarter pie would guide me to the 100%. But I was wrong, it doesn't do that. It only works within itself. That makes mining a guessing game. Factory doesn't involve guessing. Factory gameplay is accurate and detailed so we can make it more efficient. The fun in factory is the journey to better, bigger, more efficient factory. There is no guessing... There are mistakes, there a setbacks, but no guessing to get lucky. I have to do this every 3 days?? If I have 100%, I can lose it 3 days later if I guess wrong?? I feel like my brain is malfunctioning trying to make sense of this system. Why don't these mining units run on fuel? Space fuel at first, but outrageously inefficient, until you get Jet Fuel. That would add another element to the economy as jet fuel is mostly ignored. Make jet fuel a tier 5 fuel so you have to travel, and work, to get it. Eventually making a self sufficient refinery on a tier 5 tile. It would add factory fun to the factory part of this game. Some nodes have 128L but the large unit only brings in 100L. You don't get another large for 28L it's too much fuel. So you get a small unit that maxes out at 25L because it uses less fuel. Yes you miss out on 3L, but if its not high tier it's not worth it. The calibration should be done on the surface of the tile with the hand mining unit. That way the mining units are spread out requiring logistics. Right now I have them all shoulder to shoulder, and its stupid. Having to create and connect your mining units through a network of fuel sound fun to me, especially if it is over an entire tile. Then adding a refinery to be more efficient because moving ore is astronomically more efficient than moving fuel. WHAT IS GOING ON!? These mining units feel like a time sink job, that's not fun. Am I crazy? do you think the mining units are fun, am I missing something??
  22. Thank you for the replies. Taxes?? that just feels dirty. A wipe makes sense and makes my missing stuff hurt a little less. A release? I am confused. Still feels like an unfinished game. Noob question: where do I find my logs?
  23. So I came back to see the new changes. My stuff is mostly gone, except for some random ship parts. Why? Most important, I keep crashing. Was setting talent points, crash. Walking around where my factory used to be, crash. Spawn my pocket ship, crash. Game runs smooth otherwise. Is this a known issue? 'An unhandled exception has been caught. An error report will be launched.' Also, my pocket ship says elements are colliding and deactivated... Did some changes to elements make them collide? it doesn't show anywhere on build mode.
