That much is obvious, and that NQ has disallowed build mode during pvp (presumably to prevent bugs/exploits and keep people from entirely deleting their ships during combat so as to deny pirates any loot) implies that they wont allow this idea either. But, I don't think he's willing to leave the last post to a detractor of the idea (hence the insults he likes to throw when people disagree). Also I want to see what absurdity he comes up with next to try and justify a weapon that functionally invalidates all other weapons and nearly every pvp-related play style.

    Oh, and Hirnsausen...

Scenario A (collateral): Two pirate ships appear on your radar, the first shoots the second, the second triggers the self-destruct you are talking about adding and blows your ship up with those two, then a 3rd moves in from its position a safe distance away to loot everything and deploy new ships if your mechanic leaves any wrecks to loot, and the 3 of them just taunt you in chat for flying so carelessly if it doesn't, because the only people that will be left regularly doing pvp in the way you are trying to make unplayable if your bomb was included will be either pirates (if there is loot), or those who's only goal is to just wreck your stuff and then laugh at you (if there isn't loot).

Scenario B (no collateral): Two pirate ships appear on your radar, one shoots you, you self-destruct, the second moves in and loots the wrecks (if there are any) and deploys a new ship for the guy that shot you, then they move in to loot everything if your mechanic leaves any wrecks to loot, and the 2 of them just taunt you in chat for flying so carelessly if it doesn't, because the only people that will be left regularly doing pvp in the way you are trying to make unplayable if your bomb was included will be either pirates (if there is loot), or those who's only goal is to just wreck your stuff and then laugh at you (if there isn't loot).

Any actual logical counter? Or will it just be another attempt at appealing to emotion in the hopes that nobody thinks too hard about it, along with one or more insults to myself (a mission runner btw) and/or pvp players?

calling a ship with a self destruction device which could potentially kill dozens of others around it "unarmed" is quite the leap xD

Your mental gymnastics need work dude, way too easy to follow.

Also, claiming to be strongly opposed to violence and weapons while simultaneously asking for a giant bomb to violently blow all the players you don't like to bits is an amusing argument, but a rather poor one.

Good luck.  such ideas have been around since 2013. And were obviously ignored since then

That will not happen just like a full wipe will not happen.

People trying to argue against a wipe really need to stop holding on to the non-existent commitment from NQ of a no wipe promise or even a "if all else fails" scenario.
NQ has not once said there wil not be another wipe NQ has at several times mentioned there might be another wipe prior to release All NQ has said is that there were no plans for a wipe AT THAT TIME You lot really need to stop talking yourself into believing NQ made any commitments they never did. And some of you are so stubborn in clinging to these completely fabricated expectations you actually believe them to be true.

The argument that "you would lose everything" is simply not true. You'd keep blueprints and it would be highly unlikely that talent points accrued would not be refunded to the pool. If you start in a wiped universe with tens of millions of talent points and a backpack full of blueprints you will have a _massive_ advantage over those that come in fresh, if you at the same time group up and work together to rebuild even more so.

Now, if you want to argue that NQ would need to have some tools in place to make it easier to rebuild in a new situation where you may not have access to all the raw material or industry to rebuild, I certainly will agree that that is a fair point. As an example, I could see there would need to be an option to replace one voxel material for another when you rebuild from a blueprint and have the ability to exclude elements from a rebuild you do not have the need for or do not have the materials for. I would not prefer to see "magic blueprints" as they would allow much of the reasons for a wipe, such as remaining gains from exploits, to be recovered and the same goes for schematics, on a wipe these need to not be retained.

The two are not linked. Obviously on a wipe, you lose what is on Sanctuary.

In the video someone said smth Like "If you properly mine a territory you will make more than taxes"

What does this entail? Using all your charges or whatever every day ? Using those charges only once per day/week?

Because as i see it, this argument doesnt make any sense. You force players to do smth they don't want to do in order to keep their territory. Making it a job to login every day. Gg NQ

Also "move to sanc!" Is a pretty bad and useless suggestion either as someone said in that video. Moving 25 quadrillion elements, bases and whatever there......sure. hard slap in the face.

So glad i havent played at all, would be pretty upset if i had

Sure, but no matter how you spin it people are now forced to conform to a certain way of playing this game.

It is no longer possible to be totally self sufficient, slowly grow your empire and have total control over how much time to spend on generating quanta vs directing 100% of your resources into your own projects. The game now mostly caters only to those that want to jump in at the deep end and "play the game", at the expense of the more casual players and solo builders. And when you add subscription on top of that and consider players today have plenty of games to choose between. That doesn't seem like a very smart move to me.

It is also inevitable that a forced need to generate quanta in a game where selling ore is the only for sure quanta source, is going to affect market prices.
And the only existing mechanic that can keep this in check is fixed price bots. So there goes that free marked people wanted down the drain.

forcing players to log in daily and then arguing "it's not bad! you get 150k!" is a circle jerk and not an argument.

Quanta/resource sink is needed for sure. Taxes are a cheap way out for NQ without having to create interesting new mechanics like POWER SYSTEMS as promised for example, which would do the same thing as taxes, but better.

It damands responsable leader (who actualy interested in product long-term). JC was never trully interested in making actual game he kinda promised. Only in himself. He eaten up budget like parasite to stroke his ego about how he super-scientist making some super-innovative cutting edge bs-metaverse, with very little actual connection with development on ground (that stuggled for years, and he knew it -- "no red flags").

So he enjoyed until he can (and his lies become apparent), and run off to continue his bs talks of presudoscientific shows about metaverses crap (I bet we see him many more times in this kinda of swamps in future).

In short, JC just fooled everyone wasting other people money and time to fuel his narsicisstic passions. And people left how with his stinking mess, well kinda... not that much they can do. They pretty much sad clean up team.

It may sound harsh, but this how i see realistic overview of responsability question.

It depends. For people who arent active anymore, the racing league can "just" claim their hexes and shoulder the taxes (if they are willing to pay out of the pocket) For those with still active users... i personally own one race track that crosses 6 hexes. I did plan to build a second one before the demeter update was announced, but now certainly wont do it, as i'm neither willing nor able to pay 6mio+ per week for something that gives no income. I know there are some race centers that use way more hexes, and all of this has to be paid. My rough (and probably wrong) estimate is, that all current tracks in the racing league summed up have 70+ hexes, which is a looot of taxes.
Now some people would probably argue, that the useage of the tracks could be monetized, but that only works if a sport has paying audience, and i have yet to meet anyone who is willing to "see" people race in DU. In addition to the high probability, that the majority of those hexes have crappy ore pools, it just kills the future prospects of the racing league and is a very limiting factor to future expansion.

An very idealistic and at the same time unrealistic view. The amount of players who can and are willing to pay for RP is abysmal small.
