  1. Well many will only start building in alpha...and I don't see anyone claim saying they made wonderous things already

    Big-War-Day

Thunderdome ftw. No, seriously: why reset the world? If you lose everything, you just start over? No need for a restart, you know when you commit to such a fight that everything is at stake
  3. If they publish grand stories in beta like they do it in eve now with quarrels starting and so on between orgs, attention will be big enough. Plus they can show off cities, ships, bases some players built. No need for the extra invitations
  4. Natalia thinks that discord is a supersecret channel of world overthrowers and he/she wants to be padded on the back for sharing this info in his/her generous way. It was twerk himself btw who made this discord available to certain beings so in fact don't thank that Natalia dude/girl, thank twerk
  5. In a game as this there is no better way than a oligarchy or monarchy. Someone has to be in charge and has to have the last word. Democracy is good and all on a lower basis of the org but the leader should always be a kind of dictator who has the last word on everything. True democracies won't function in a game

    In-game voice.

Or they just don't want to talk. Or the are heavy rp-gamers and their antenna is broken. But I see what you did there - kill em all
  7. That's the plan with lua. No flowing water in release though (cause of server issues). If you break a damm the water will just stay where it is. Automate your city/ship/base with flags for different people - automation comes at a cost though. A turret won't be as good as player controled
  8. And NQ always had a mmo in mind (which RSI didn't). DU will evolve with very different mechanics and gameplay later down the road than it was at release. You just can't implement everything at start, which is good
  9. 1) No there is no skill progression by using a certain skill. Read the blogs. 2) You do know that prices can be fucked up by players? And you do know that (in your example) those 100creds/ton and 300creds for fuel is only valid at a certain point? 3) If mining is too tedious for you, then just don't mine. Do something else. It's not that much cheaper if you mine yourself and build something with those resources or you just buy the resources. Mined resources by yourself aren't for free you know 4) so you only use lua in your ships then. Good to know when I pillage your base... If this would be implemented, old players just dominate the market with their ore, not caring about fuel (because they manipulate the market for that) and newbros would just not be able to compete
  10. Ok again: "Add to this no skill progress when using drones...." No such skill progression while using something and anything exists in DU. Skills are only and solely trained by time like in eve
  11. 1) there is no skill progression whatsoever in DU at all 2) Even with fuel/maintenance: mine large amounts of whatever resource. Hide it, sit on it. Fuck up the market with that resource, price goes up, dump all your shit on the market. Where exactly is this balanced? 3) still a bad idea which won't happen, as already stated by jc
  12. All hail to mighty Archonius, chief advertising manager!
  13. Why do you think eve players are not creative? Don't you think that it MIGHT be possible that they also play OTHER games? Like space engineers? Landmark? Why should an eve player be less creative than some other random guy? Taste is subjective - there will always be people who dislike a design. So what? If there are people who find DU promising and like the MMO voxel, emergent gameplay thing but don't follow it or donate or buy this game because of ONE FRIGGING DESIGN THEY SAW PRE ALPHA WHICH WAS BUILT BY DEVS then they are just plain dumb and fucking idiots
  14. Everything will be burned, scammed, griefed and destroyed as long as it's within the eula. There will always be some bears who want to avoid PvP - and I'm glad that there WILL be people who will force them to fight., It's a game - people always forget that and get all serious about it
  15. So? Players need to make sure THEMSELVES that they can't be scammed, that's the point. There are enough loans and banks in eve which guarantee that and are near impossible to scam you
  16. I don't really see a point in doing this. If they make some videos where you clearly see what they're doing, then leave it up to them
  17. This topic is about generated puzzles and I simply pointed out that the devs can implement whatever ruin, arkship, structure they want but the players should do the missions and events. So?
  18. The way I see content: missions, dev provided events, scripted events and so on. Tools have to be provided, and ruins are category "what there is to explore". What players do with those ruins should be up to them and not determined by the devs
  19. As I already said, I will organize some PvP events BECAUSE that needs thorough testing. Nonetheless it's better for the overall alpha, if there is a general non-stop PvP agreement
  20. In a player driven sandbox people should stop wanting content from the devs. Really. All those ideas are against players in fact. Want such a riddle? Make it yourself. Want a maze for players to escape? Build it. You are not confined to what devs in other mmos do, this is a sandbox - do whatever you want
