  1. I agree, which is why I have made this suggestion more than once. Some particularly salty former players, or just simply selfish ones, have purposesly logged their crap out at the markets, with the intent to mess with actual players. Which says a lot more about them than it does about the game or its developers. My suggestion is easy to understand, fair, and has virtually no penalty attached for players who have no choice but to log out when at a market. It is very resistant to being exploited, as explained, because the token cannot be used anywhere other than the market hex where it was created. And its cargo is also not able to be magically transported around inside that token. As some, perhaps many, are taking periodic breaks from the game, during paid beta, I think it would be unfair to simply give others the freedom to salvage them all. Instead, the token in the market container is ready for when the absent player returns, and the lag-inducing issues have been resolved.
  2. There's a lot going on, currently, and planned for the upcoming year, according to devblogs, announcements, and streams. If you have moderate interest in the game, from the building aspect alone, whether it be ships or ground facilities, there's a lot there for you. If you focus is to me gaining lots of cash as quickly as possible, the current meta is to mine, mine, mine and mine...according to some very vocal and often incoherent players. PVP is currently dull and nearly lifeless, but that is primarily due to it not receiving the development attention before now, as 2021 is supposed to bring in a lot of changes/additions to that area of the game. At this time, the market is a bit unstable, due to the industry change patch (0.23) and the previous and subsequent player actions as far as hoarding, etc. I play this game solo, although I am in an org. It suits me, apart from those times that I want to play alongside others. So, while I suggest to not buy into the hype, I also suggest to ignore the naysayers and loudmouths, but rather just go with whether or not the game provides entertainment for you at a price you are willing to pay. If so, welcome aboard. If not, maybe another game will suit you better. For myself, I am having a good time.
  3. Tool 7. Point at your dynamic construct (ship) and left click. You can now slowly move it to where you want, within 128 meters. Slowly, because if you go too fast, you break the link between the tool and the construct and have to point and click again. You need to be standing on the ground or within a static construct for this to work.
  4. Use the maneuver tool. You can use that via WASD to fix the positioning of your ship. As you get the hang of the controls, you will find it very easy to either nose dive or to fly safely. Hint, put a hover engine at the front of your craft, angled at 45 degrees, pitch up. You'll bounced (jump) when hitting most obstacles, when skimming the ground.
  5. The only thing standing in the way of achieving what you want is...you and the self-inflicted limitations. Granted, the process is slower, but you can still do it. Why can't you build a ship solo? Sure you can, just not as quickly or cheaply as you might be used to. MMOs are grindy by nature, everything before this was bonus, now it is getting down to business. I have zero "major organizations" telling me anything. I'd likely not listen if they did. Give it some time for adjustments to be made and a bit of tweaking that is expected and very necessary.
  6. Do it made to order. People are offering it in chat all the time, "I will pay someone to..."
  7. ffs. They provide evidence they listened and have announced a response to player feedback. The market is unreliable because of what was explained. Small groups or soloists not interacting. Give it little time for people to catch up. Right now, many are running around moaning about not being able to play.
  8. How many of you parked your ships at the markets, just to take up the space and/or increase lag? Just curious.
  9. I've ran into this, also, when coping from one construct I own, and trying to paste into another construct I own.
  10. And I think this is one example of why I think this works. The pace is not too rapid nor too slow, just a lot slower than people are used to, but it was broken/poorly implemented earlier. If you can find me in game, which isn't all that hard, I have an industrial park that I am building, with 1 each of the industrial elements for people to rent and use. If you need industry that you don't yet have, I have it ready. I am also acquiring the schematics for t1 and t2 items. So, get with me and we can work something how, until you get your own factory going.
  11. It just is what it is. No amount of anger will change it. Neither will repetitious demands for a roll-back or a wipe, for that matter any other demands. I am having fun with the building aspect of the game. That is what drew me to playing. The eventual exploration, pvp, territory warefare, etc., etc., is just a more well-rounded setting for the game, instead of merely "Minecraft in Space." If the game does not work on someone's system or it has significant performance issues, well the developers are aware that people are having performance issues and have known that for quite a while. Either share the specs, so we can make comments specific to what is being used (based on what we've experienced or heard from others), or be disappointed in the responses. We're not mind-readers and thus can only go on the info presented, at least with any degree of helpfulness or utility. I imagine some like to expound at great lengths as to how successful or unsuccessful this game will be because of X, Y, or Z content/changes. If the game is not to one's liking, then move on. Burning the house down or pissing in the pool for those who remain is extremely selfish as in, "I'm angry and by Jove, I'm going to make damn sure to make you angry too!" is not only toxic, but asinine behavior.
  12. If wishes and buts were candied nuts, I'd be very fat. But, instead, I am building, building, building, building, and then waiting on my groups of refineries and honeycomb industry to churn out more for me to build with. Schematics haven't slowed me down one bit. Instead, they helped me narrow my focus, allowing me to concentrate on the things I really want to get finished.
  13. I've accepted the fact that I joined a paid beta. Therefore, I expect changes will happen, some I may not be happy with, some I may be happy with. Since I like the vision for the future of this game, I made the choice to support it. I do not at all feel as though the game was misrepresented to me, but I also did not buy into the hype, which is why I only came on board a little while after paid beta began. Again, the vast majority of is here simply cannot answer the question as that information was never provided to us, beyond those whose Alpha experiences are held to an NDA and would prefer not to lose their account in order to give you an answer. Sure, we can debate our perceptions of the merits of what we or others have observed, but that is still not a technical answer. People can demand answers all they want, but a demand does not require an entitlement, only the sense of one.
  14. Then submitting a ticket is your best route to find an answer to your question. Good luck with that. Here, at least, we can only go on what we have experienced or what we have heard regarding what others have experienced as I rather doubt you're going to get a developer to jump in with a response.
  15. I do agree. I'd like to see 2 lives on cores, or at least on XS and S cores, given that newer players have these as fairly accessible, when they are learning how to fly/land/avoid elevators, etc. Except, if your core dies outside of pvp, no one can claim your ship unless you abandon it. If it dies in pvp, then anyone who repairs it can claim it. If this were not true, the nearly completely wrecked ship that is on my land would be snapped up in a moment, but instead unless the guy comes to repair it soon, it'll end up 2000 meters below my base, buried...as the smoking ruins causes me lag.
  16. I appreciate the head's up, but honestly, I am focused on using what I have to build what I am building. I've been happy with the amount of money I've gotten from the relatively little ore that I've sold (less than 200kl in total) on top of the daily 100k. I currently have less than 10k in my wallet, but as I have weeks of building to do, and the ore to do it with (man, calcium goes very far when making concrete), when I next need schematics, I should have an easy 2 million or so with which to make my purchases. If push comes to shove, I can do another 30 minutes of mining, grab 30kl or so and make another million. I am working on a large project that will, hopefully, see a major use by new players, in that I intend to provide, for rent, full sets of industry, so that they can build at least some goods for themselves, that require something beyond their nanopack. While I cannot currently provide them all of the schematics for everything, I can provide those for refining all t1 and t2 ores, and the products from the smelter for the same). In about a week or so, I will be able to do most of the uncommon schematics, also, at least for a few of the sets I have ready to go. I do not expect to make a tremendous amount of cash from this effort, but I do intend to make the effort. Since pvp, in its current incarnation, requires almost zero skill (apart from ship building and piloting, but the actual fighting is watching a % to hit bar and then pushing a button), and since my skill at voxelmancy is zero, I am putting my game time into tasks that I can do efficiently. I suppose I could just mine and sell the ore, making bank in the process, but that is not my goal.
  17. Blazemonger and I disagree here, a lot, but he is also very passionate about wanting this game to succeed and to be great. I happen to agree with his stance in this instance (a shocker, I know). Help us to help you. Unless you really do not want help and just want to rant.
  18. In all the hours I've played thus far, I've done very little mining. But I've not needed to as I did not really spend all that much money, except for claiming hexes, which is nearing 40 or so, at this point. .23 causes a change in play-style and perhaps another one in focus, but does not prevent one from playing the game. People got used to near-instant gratification, which is a mistake in game and in RL. Change the mindset and one's enjoyment improves.
  19. I made them. Apart from schematics (I've about 4 dozen of those atm), my market purchases, since I started the game, were limited to 6x elevators. a few plants, and a Mule. After that (started in late October), I built everything I own, with the exception of a few things that I traded for, having built L cores to that end. Now, all of my industry efforts are going towards building my base and soon-to-be-open industrial park. 50,000m3 of honeycomb crafted up, and about 950,000m3 to go, for the planned start of my, eventually, rather sizable base. Admittedly, I have used the L cores far more quickly than I anticipated, but I got itch an for building and took a day to get things going. I will probably make a bunch more, once I have built up what I have already placed. Otherwise, it would be far too dangerous to take off and land. I've already had at least one person fly right into my base, even with the large glowing logo in the sky that I placed as a warning.
  20. The sky is falling, the sky is falling everyone!
  21. Do you have shadows off? Crashes are occurring at log in, in many cases, due to shadows being off. Setting dynamic and environmental shadows to low seems to fix this for many/most. What other programs are running that might cause the admit to think you are cheating? Thus are blocked. Could be that you were still registered as being in game and thus the admin block and not another program. The ship you are flying, does it have lots of little elements or fewer, larger ones? Masses of XS or S elements cause lag, for many, if not everyone. What height are you flying? I generally fly no lower than 3000m anywhere, except when landing, and often will go above 4000m to avoid elevators and/or lag. I am seeing objects draw on my screen at about 6.5km distance, not terrain, but actual player-constructed objects. At what distance are you seeing drawn elements when not suffering from lag? Some higher end systems are dealing with worse lag than some systems that barely meet the minimum recommended. Optimizations for this is in the future, not the present. My personal record for login crashes was 8 in a row. Now fixed when I changed the shadows setting. I will often slideshow when approaching Market 17 on Alioth, but now nearly any market because the toxic/salty/former players decided they'd park their crap in the way at markets, to screw those of us playing. I also switched to fewer and larger elements for my ship, which really helped with some lag I was having in open country, away from markets or lots of player constructs.
