  1. This forum is about Mercury 0.3 that is coming and the Exchange. I want to suggest that the Exchange provide the ability for players selling stuff to post the prices (preferably remotely) so that other players can decide which sellers to buy from. There is enough variation in ship design so that doesn't need to be a price war. With element sales, it is always a price or convenience war as it should be. I don't know why they don't provide the ability to setup player markets that are part of the J market system. I also want to be able to filter construct and BP sales on non-DRM (or DRM) as I will only occasionally be interested in purchasing DRM builds, never for a ship used in PVP space unless there is a discount method to replace it.
  2. A big IF of whether there will be a wipe. I would certainly like to know of course. I have been thinking about the following: 1) What would happen to CORPS? 2) What will happen to Talents? 3) I have a suggestion for Quanta: Instead of taking it all away, why not tax it similar to American tax: A) Poor players (including new) get an extra stimulus amount at the start of the wipe. B} A certain amount per player (or corp) is protected - whatever that is - 1 or 2 or 10 million perhaps. C) Above that is a scale of taxes from 5% to where the highest rate for billionaires could be set perhaps at a value like 70% or something. At least we would all start with something decent. If they wanted to do it right they would protect high contributers to the game experience as NON PROFIT Corps. ALSO Please note I see a lot of players here that ignore the rich contributions of things to do, services and artwork some groups of corps and players have offered all players including new ones. Perhaps those are just PVP pirate wanna bees that only wish to take advantage and win some objective in the game. They don't get the real possibility of purposes being here and are not likely to stay after they get what they want. They need to realize this game is different if they want to stay. The real issue is NQ needs to clearly state what they stand for and intend and stick with it. Listening to all the players and trying to please them without that will simply kill the game as nobody on any side will trust it no matter what they want to see. I would hate to see that happen. As for LEGION, all I can say it should be considered a common enemy to deal with.
  3. Considering that DRM blueprints are way too simple with the permissions and giving the permission to make a bp from them to another player does not seem to work on older constructs, it would be unfair to do a wipe without offering an automatic blueprint for all owned constructs. I have played in Alpha and all throughout Beta phase. When I buy a ship that someone else made and make a lot of changes to it, I want to create a blueprint. If the original owner is unable to give me permission to do so because it doesn't work or is no longer playing, that is wrong, and I won't take such a ship into PVP space and I am not sure if I will continue to play. Please take permissions for constructs more seriously.
  4. Could you please explain what you mean by balancing the economy? I don't see the problem and would like to see some numbers and a summary of thoughts on this. I don't have a lot of Quanta but get enough to be satisfied. As for schematics, I am used to them and don't have an opinion right now. I have bought several I have not put to use yet. In my opinion, players need to learn to think differently about playing this game with a different perspective that it should be a different valid experience than other games they are used to. They are not used to seeing the high level of hard work that goes into this one and need to raise their imagination on possibilities and their own problem-solving skills to be part of the game. I think that fixing bugs and defects is important. Remember there is a concept of a second universe that we should be able to travel into and you can make that better. Instead of a legacy and new server that are totally disconnected, please consider some narrow connection between them as a way of doing this and allow new players to start on either server. One thing I would like to see is for mining unit calibration to last much longer so that if some of us cannot play online for hours almost every day, we have a chance to spend some of our online time doing something else. I would also like to see player market products and information listed on the J menu. I personally am not artistically inclined and would like to develop friendships and opportunities with those that are in addition to ones with great ideas in the game like racing and team mission projects etc. Everything should not be about killing and pirating - cooperation and comradery should be significantly more important along with adventuring and discovery. There are plenty of other games for that. Some of things to consider for the future is to implement the promised limited AI pets that are not a load on the server(s) because they involve either their own server or are part of client software. I want a cat to put on my ships or perhaps a wolf. Texture artists could be supported if you can figure out how to do that without lagging. It gives a dimension to the game and there are many talented artists that can do that. Applying textures to avatars or pets could be considered. Living in a DU apartment would make more sense if we were not always in a spacesuit. But that is something to think about years down the road. I have certain game ideas I keep secret which could solve some problems you consider as I wish to be involved in game software design and implementation when I make it a priority. I have quite a bit of experience in software and designing experiences although I am not artistically inclined.
  5. How are we going to tell our current core limit and how many we have (in personal and in corp)? Also can you walk us through with an example to do to reach the maximum corp talents? I am talking about reaching over 1600. Note if we have a way NOW to tell how many cores we have it would be useful for planning.
  6. It certainly would be best to test it well. However, keep in mind it is NQ responsibility to be more careful about accuracy in checking overlap while building and slightly more forgiving for using a construct if it can't be absolutely perfect. This is a valuable tip if you want the game to thrive and be popular. You don't have to use the exact same code for checking overlaps for both usage and building - code for usage of the construct will potentially cause more lag than code while building it. I know how to make code efficient and reliable. Make the players happy instead of having them leave in disgust. This overlap checking for usage instead of getting it right for building only is a bad idea and could end up as a nightmare. Please reconsider.
  7. How is it going to mark the individual elements that are stacked? For example if a red triangle is on 65 adjusters will it highlight ones with stacking problems? As with other games with building, your detection of overlap has not been perfect. If a single player places one element, say a container, then places other elements next to it, there is always a chance that if you put the original element in edit and move it and move it back, it will 'think it can't be placed'. This should never happen.
  8. The suggestion about putting down shields when warping makes no sense but I agree that damage should be considered before preventing warp. The way shields should work is they get put down briefly whenever you shoot so those engaging in battle are at more risk.
  9. What happened to the idea of Unit tests and regressive testing? They should be able to create some bots to help with creating a complex suite of tests.
