Hearing the news of the broken promise that the reset will happen infuriated me. I really hated NQ for it. Not people personally by the way. Why hate? because like many others I have invested thousands of hours in this game. At least 87 million talent points and loads of stuff and quanta that I worked hard to get without cheats or using exploits. Invested a lot of quanta in blueprint copies that will be gone after the reset. I feel NQ has stolen our time and our love for the things we created.
I really had so much stuff, my underground warehouse has more than 100 expanded containers XL and more than 150 containers L filled to the rim will elements, pures, ores, products, half-products, cores, fuels and what not. And there was another warehouse, maybe with half the capacity as the first one. I'm also extremely pissed that I will loose my territories. Especially the territories where I mined for Tier 5 ores. Endless searching for the T5 ore deposits... The loss of ships is also what I'm angry about, especially the large one I was building and I won't be able to finish it soon. I has all rare military stuff on it and a lot of hours of voxelmancy, so I won't be able to restart with building it in 2024 maybe... There are ships that were abandoned which needed a lot of rework to make them the way I like them. They will be gone forever because they were initially built by another player who might not return after the reset. No core blueprints on those. Lost labour and love for these ships.

Now I know this is just a game for many people, but for some (like me) this is a game I really wanted and I waited for ages until it arrived. Real life sucks so much for some (like me) that living in this virtual world makes real life worth living again. This sounds serious and to some of you maybe pathetic, but those people don't know how real life can be hell. So DU is part of my life and yeah I know it is pretty sad.

So rebuilding my virtual life... it all means grinding to get quanta, an enormous amount of elements and an incredible amount of honeycomb that are in our builds and in the core blueprints. To rebuild it we will not be needing our creativity, but me personally I will have to grind for atleast a year to bring everything back that I will loose. I am not gonna do that... Do I even have the courage to put in the time and effort and risk another wipe in 2023 or in 2024? I don't know. I sort of like the idea of starting over, not bothering to become rich like I was, but purely playing DU to be creative. Sort of retire but still live in Helios. But at this point I'm still really numb and I will see how this goes. Day by day. They might say this will be the last wipe. Don't think I will ever believe you again, NQ. You betrayed our trust when you discarded the promise not to wipe again. I apologize for the long and possibly boring rant. I hope DU will survive, but if it doesn't because of the wipe... don't blame us veterans who turned this virtual world into a vibrant creation. Which was built by the players... but potentially destroyed by the makers...

I'm paying for four, so you would need five to get ahead. (I know, I know... Reading is difficult) 😉

And who's paying $15/month per character per month? I generally subscribe with a year subscription, those are currently  $83.88/year. So four would be $335.52/year and not $60/month. Unless they price raise again... Then we'll see...

@Captain Hills I've spent almost $500 on DU subscriptions since beta. Started with one character, added one at a later date, then added two other characters...

If I spent a lot of time/effort on a game, I have no issue with paying for that. As for spending money on something and how much, that is something between me and my wallet. I'm not judging you on your alcohol intake (yes I am)... 😉 But how much you spend depends on how much you earn, how much time/effort you spend on something, and how much you value it. People playing a sport will spend more on that in a year and will have spent less time doing that.

As for me not leaving the game... It's a matter of trust and a future spending of time, effort, and money. NQ has pretty much 'spend' any trust they had, this is (for me) the straw that will brake the camel's back... Time for me to cut my 'losses' and move on. For others it will be any wipe, period. That will make them quit permanently and they are still clinging to the hope that NQ will see the 'light' and not wipe at all (I think that is entirely unrealistic). Others will indeed gripe and moan, but keep playing/paying anyway, no matter the 'abuse', they are 'locked in' as you said. But with an absolute clean start I have NOTHING that is 'locking me in' anymore...

As far as not listening to me. Let me ask you something, does a company want customers that are around for decades and spend hundreds, if not a thousand dollars plus per year on their services (per player) or does it want dayflies that are around for a few months, maybe a few years and then moan and gripe about price increases due to inflation (paying a single subsciption)? I know what I would want as a business...

And what happened to Life is Feudal: MMO? They shut it down: 18th of January 2021. Three years after Early Access (the equivalent of DU Beta). 8 months before that, they did the wipe... Is this a prediction for a DU wipe? No, but neither are any other 'success' stories about wipes...

WTF? What gay part? You have issues...

Your assumptions are that my 'advantage' is more important then the health of the game. Do you have any dependable data that a TP wipe will attract so many new paying players that it will compensate the players that will leave due to the TP wipe AND get more players/accounts on top of that? I seriously doubt that...

Just from myself, you would have to get five paying customers to get ahead. Not just returning players that have already payed their dues during KS/Patronage and now have a ton of DAC or lifetime subscriptions, actually paying customers now.

I played/payed DU on the basis of a persistent universe, if that persistence isn't there, I would never have started. There are very few game play loops in DU and very few are actual fun, so I wasn't playing for fun, I was playing for satisfaction/gratification. Compare it to real life: You can work for crap pay, but work on an awesome project, you're not working for pay, but for the satisfaction of that awesome project. Then someone burns it down, all your labor gone... Now, there is of course the option to work for top pay (play), after you're done, they can burn it, piss on it, but you still got your pay. DU pays balls in gameplay, absolutely horrific! If I had known they would burn the place down for launch, I would just not have spent the time and the money. I would have played more Satisfactory, Dyson Sphere Program, Elite Dangerous, maybe even some Star Citizen, etc. That would have given me way more gameplay, but just not any long term satisfaction/gratification. That longterm satisfaction/gratification is why I played/payed DU.

That was not known to everyone. A stream started mentioning some of the shenanigans recently that f-upped the economy and it blew me away how many I didn't know of, I knew of some because over a period of two years people mention some stuff, but the extend is truly mindblowing! What really pisses me off is that NQ didn't fix it at the time by just rolling those misuses back. And that leads me to a similar thought as @blazemonger, that the wipe was always planned, we were just spun a tale of hope and promise. That is why this letter of 'hope and promise' completely falls flat on it's face from my perspective...

You have a testosterone issue! 😉
Yes, I'm male. Am I only a 'man' if I can 'buck up' and get shafted?

I'm running four characters. If I want to burn my money, I know what I'm getting into. Dual Universe is/was marketed as a persistent universe, I am willing to concede that NQ f-upped the economy beyond repair and that the player base is so adapt at working around any limitations NQ could set, so a complete asset wipe is necessary. But WHY would a Talent Point wipe be needed? To get on par with other players? This persistent universe is build on player inequality, if you don't get into that from the start, you won't stick around for long when those inequalities become apparent after a week/month. Those kinds of players are absolute trash for NQ and trash for the rest of us because they'll try to keep forcing 'balancing'/equality on the rest of us, like they have been doing during beta and then left (and maybe keep trolling the forums until they get bored)...

NQ F-upped. They are already putting a burden on the players that is way beyond reasonable. A TP wipe is where I draw the line. I'm not afraid to bleed, but then we bleed together, that means we, NQ and the new players. It's not just going to be us, because we went along with the (broken) promises of Beta...

When you open the website www.dualuniverse.game you will read in bold text:
"Dual universe - the space mmo entirely built and driven by players"

This is actually pretty correct. We, the players built this MMO. Well... atleast the content. And now NQ has plans to destroy our hard work. Wipe it clean. Destroy the market even more than it already was (by the decision of NQ to introduce schematics). Not only will the market be cleansed of all products that are for sale in a reset, but it will be sacked for another half year when NQ introduces power systems if players will still be there to witness that feature... Again our factories will stop working and be idle. Many of you have no idea what the impact will be on players that have large or mega factories. I will tell you what the effect will be: they leave the game utterly disappointed. Me myself I have chosen not to create those factories yet, because I have seen the devastation around a half year ago and I'm more of a salvager. I cleaned up atleast 35 territories which mostly contained large factories. The players left. I requisited their constructs and at this moment there are more than 3000 factory elements in my underground warehouse like furnaces, assembly lines in various sizes, smelters and so on. And since the 1st of May I have been busy possessing abandoned dynamic and static constructs. Today is the 8th of June so I spend more than a month working hard to collect everything and recycling most of the ships I found. Now I know for a fact a lot of other 'vultures' like myself did the same thing. If you think about that you might be able to imagine how many players have left the game, especially after the introduction of schematics. Is NQ doing things right? Yes, they do fortunately! And I hope they will continue to do so and NOT wipe this game in the state as it is in right now. Because abandonment has caused a lot of constructs to be wiped already. Because you don't want to truncate the database in seconds all the work the remaining active players have put in this game. Don't do that please... Personally I think I already spent more than 2,000 hours of work in this game. If you want to wipe something, then I would say wipe all quanta which is above the 5 billion limit so you will hit the peeps that abused the mission system. @NQ if you still want to wipe, then let the remaining active players keep one static construct M or L on one territory of their choice for them to keep besides the one on Sanctuary. So they can put all their honeycomb, elements, schematics, blueprints and so on in containers to keep that stuff safe from the reset. Also don't touch their talent points, maybe reset all talents, but don't touch our points. Let players keep a maximum of 5 billion quanta (owned org quanta included). Give the players enough time to blueprint and after that tear down their cities and buildings and spaceships to prepare for the reset. Give us time to collect our rare and exotic mining units from distant planets where we currently mine our higher tier ores (and I will still be p*ssed about loosing my T5 mining grounds...). Give us time to collect our stuff from the market containers. Give us time to pick that one territory to keep which we have been calling our virtual home. Give us time to document our bookmarks. Stop grieving players by destroying what we've worked for. This game is not just any other game, this is the game the players are building. And don't tell me it's not fair for beginning players if there is no complete wipe... or are we going to wipe anually??? There will always be veteran players and beginning players. A complete wipe won't change that, so stop wining about it.

Wipe our assets, you wipe our creativity and you wipe the content of the game and I'm afraid this will kill Dual Universe.
Is it a real life money problem? I'm a silver backer and I'm willing to put another amount of cash in this game to make it work and I'm sure others will too. (to be honest I already spend almost 2,000 euro to upgrade my hardware to play DU... I must be bonkers...)

Sorry for the rant, but I hope it will give you (NQ) wisdom.

#1 Cyrille: A game like Dual Universe is a never ending labor of love and ongoing development, but there is a point when you just need to assess if it is ready for a release.
Translation: We promised way beyond our capability to deliver, and have decided to shove a broken game out for release cause we need revenue.

#2 Cyrille: Development of Dual Universe continues at full speed, and we’re spending the lion’s share of our focus right now on fixing bugs, stabilizing the game.
Translation: We 100% know our game is broken, expect months before you get new content.

#3 Cyrille: We’re close to deploying a brand new feature that we expect will be a hub for creators and merchants.
Translation: We are going to reskin the auction house terminals, and make them a player craftable asset you can place on your tile.

#4 Cyrille: We’re also working hard to deliver our promises to our Kickstarter backers that supported us from the beginning.
Translation: Thanks for the money, we are obviously 4 years behind our delivery date.

#5 Cyrille: Our team continues to analyze game data and read your feedback to focus our efforts on where we can be most effective
Translation: We are reading your feedback and ignoring you, this will continue.

#6 Cyrille: Another gameplay feature we’re looking to add is recycling, which would enable ... turning parts of broken or unwanted elements back into components.
Translation: Our economy is broken, elements are worth less than their raw resources, here is a bandaid.

#7 Cyrille: The mission system is one area of focus for this goal in developing more complex, interconnected, and lore-oriented objectives.
Translation: Our answer for PVE is more boring mission types which poorly reward players for their time.

#8 Cyrille: We’re also developing a power management system.... Players must decide how to specialize each ship
Translation: We are breaking your ships again, forcing major redesigns.... LULZ.

#9 Cyrille: We want to increase the quantity of discovered planets and moons... to produce planetoids the size of big asteroids,
Translation: Player population has fallen too much for multiple star systems as JC proposed, yet players are still too close for servers to handle the resource strain.

#10 Cyrille: One of the most resource-intensive features that we have to tackle is planetary warfare. It brings significant change to the game and, before we can achieve it, we have to bring PvP in general to a more mature state.
Translation: We Know PVP sucks, Planet Warfare in 2030

What is the point in playing at this stage??? We NEED to know what will be wiped... because I want to start on a major building project (with all the honeycomb I cleaned up for NQ...) but still no news. Will we have build are cities and bases for nothing??? will our ships be taken away from us? will our major mining sites be lost which we spent hours and hours and hours to find? Will we loose our stockpiles of fuel? elements? talents? grrrrrr 🤬 and what about our schematics and our quanta??? I was going to spend more than a 150 million in quanta for specific schematics, but what's the point? 🤬🤬🤬 Sure we can keep our blueprints..... but I don't want to spend a HALF YEAR mining ore and creating sufficient honeycomb to be able to rebuild what I have NOW!!!!!!

AND what day would that be when you could give us "more concrete" news on a reset???? Could you perhaps tell us that??? Yall are trying to address the problem without addressing the problem, and every time you release a statement that is not an answer to the wipe but  another "we are still discussing it" you prove that point. Once again you have released a statement that is no statement. I have been a subscriber since the first beta weekend and have never been more frustrated. I know there are plenty of people who have supported this game longer but I think most of us want to know that answer to only one question more than any other. You are looking to things that will release when? after launch? before launch? that wasn't answered. I finally canceled auto renewal on all three of my accounts because there IS NO POINT IN PLAYING when we don't know the future or even about when these plans will be in place. I would love to play this game with my friends when we have a goal. but as long as the "reset" (wipe) is uncertain there is no goal I can think of that may or may not be wiped.

You may not care but you will get no more money from me until you answer those questions.
I have never spent more time on a game than I have with DU and this is so frustrating and upsetting. I am not yelling as I type, just sad.

    1. If I understood correctly from seeing one of the vlogs they said the scans would still be valid as to the ores that were scanned, not the quantity of course. NQ said the existing scans would still be valid... they said it...
    2. I put time in playing the game, I don't have time to cry on the forums each day...
    3. See 1.
    4. No I don't understand, I think atleast 60% of the all the territories all over the galaxy haven't been scanned. There is still good stuff to be found. Let the players who worked their asses off keep their territories with the precious ores on them.

    Right?

we will be clearing all scan results from the game when Demeter goes live...

    Wait.... WHAT???

This means all the f**king hundreds of hours we spent on finding precious ores and the paying of f**king hundreds of millions of quanta in tax to own those territories AND the investments of buying the multiple f**king territory scanners AND building f**king special ships to do the scanning will ALL be in vain... THANK YOU NQ! with this decision you listen to the cry babies who will drop out of the game if they don't get it their way. They will always be dissatisfied... AND NOW you will loose a lot of veteran players spending so much wasteful energy and time and quanta on improving their status in DU. I think you underestimate the impact... RIP NQ.

A few points of attention please NQ...
A lot of old players like myself have paid 10 to 100 of millions of tax quanta while claiming territory. I think we should be reimbursed for the number of tiles we have in our possession. Don't just reset mining skills, reset ALL skills points (See Jeronimo's post with legit reasons a few above this post). Don't give us the excavation tool for a few weeks... the tool might be used for other purposes...
