  1. My resurrection node skin still doesn't work...

Today they will be launching 1.1 and I hope all the stuff we backers was promised will be there.

To me the whole list of what who should get is terribly unclear, it seems to change over time.

So I request that NQ posts a closed thread here on the forums with all the rewards backers should get (hopefully sooner than later...).

In other words: what do ruby backers get? what do gold backers get? what do silver backers get? Please NQ post this thread to make things clear once and for all. Thank you.

  2. Hearing the news of the broken promise that the reset will happen infuriated me. I really hated NQ for it. Not people personally by the way. Why hate? because like many others I have invested thousands of hours in this game. At least 87 million talent points and loads of stuff and quanta that I worked hard to get without cheats or using exploits. Invested a lot of quanta in blueprint copies that will be gone after the reset. I feel NQ has stolen our time and our love for the things we created.

I really had so much stuff, my underground warehouse has more than 100 expanded containers XL and more than 150 containers L filled to the rim will elements, pures, ores, products, half-products, cores, fuels and what not. And there was another warehouse, maybe with half the capacity as the first one. I'm also extremely pissed that I will loose my territories. Especially the territories where I mined for Tier 5 ores. Endless searching for the T5 ore deposits... The loss of ships is also what I'm angry about, especially the large one I was building and I won't be able to finish it soon. I has all rare military stuff on it and a lot of hours of voxelmancy, so I won't be able to restart with building it in 2024 maybe... There are ships that were abandoned which needed a lot of rework to make them the way I like them. They will be gone forever because they were initially built by another player who might not return after the reset. No core blueprints on those. Lost labour and love for these ships.

Now I know this is just a game for many people, but for some (like me) this is a game I really wanted and I waited for ages until it arrived. Real life sucks so much for some (like me) that living in this virtual world makes real life worth living again. This sounds serious and to some of you maybe pathetic, but those people don't know how real life can be hell. So DU is part of my life and yeah I know it is pretty sad.

So rebuilding my virtual life... it all means grinding to get quanta, an enormous amount of elements and an incredible amount of honeycomb that are in our builds and in the core blueprints. To rebuild it we will not be needing our creativity, but me personally I will have to grind for atleast a year to bring everything back that I will loose. I am not gonna do that... Do I even have the courage to put in the time and effort and risk another wipe in 2023 or in 2024? I don't know. I sort of like the idea of starting over, not bothering to become rich like I was, but purely playing DU to be creative. Sort of retire but still live in Helios. But at this point I'm still really numb and I will see how this goes. Day by day. They might say this will be the last wipe. Don't think I will ever believe you again, NQ. You betrayed our trust when you discarded the promise not to wipe again. I apologize for the long and possibly boring rant. I hope DU will survive, but if it doesn't because of the wipe... don't blame us veterans who turned this virtual world into a vibrant creation. Which was built by the players... but potentially destroyed by the makers...

  3. I guess all the bickering here has no purpose, other than maybe NQ reading it and taking it into account when they make their decision.

A reset is probably unavoidable, but it's what Cergorach said earlier if it will be a complete wipe I will not be 'locked in'.

@NQ, I hope the game survives, that's the most important now, but it seems there are two poisons: you will loose people when you do a reset or you will loose people not doing a reset. So pick your poison, or maybe mix them and sip that cup. I think a wise decision would be to go to Steam with DU. If you do, honest communication and hard work fixing bugs and lag will be the keys to win the hearts of players. Please don't f*** this game up... With this I close my case, the whining and the bickering. o/

p.s. and please make a decision very soon about wiping or not or something in between. Many players are in limbo on what to do... keep making quanta if it will be gone soon? building great structures which will be taken down soon (and if it's a large structure we will need to start working again at launch to gather enough honeycomb to rebuild it...) so please decide ffs. Then we can also make up our minds to stay here or leave.

His post was meant to call me crazy because I claim that knowledge is advantage enough in a video game.  His post was not an opinion piece.

We are all whining, but whining over losing your massive unfair advantage is the worst kind.

You are also whining, welcome to the conversation.

You're the kind of person that comes into the world and whine about that the world is unfair. You will never be happy until you let that go. The world will never be fair, nor will gaming worlds. There will always be peeps joining later when there are already multibillionairs in the game. So stop wining about my wining, because the only reason you want to see a wipe is that everybody start this game 'fair'. As for myself, yeah I'm whining, but not because I will loose the quanta. I've left billions behind in other games, like EVE online. My point is I've been working hard for atleast the past half year to get rich, because I don't want to worry about paying 500k per week for each territory we own. I don't want to stay working in this game doing boring mining mini-games, gathering abandoned stuff and doing boring missions just to make cash. I want to start and finish my creative projects. My point is I will have to do all the work again which I did to come to the point where I can relax and play the game I would like to. It would be easier if there was no tax on territories or maybe pay one fee for a territory to own it. And even if it comes down to a wipe then I will probably be a billionaire again and then again I have to listen to people like you whining how unfair the world is...

You want to keep as much stuff as you can fit into one territory, and all your talent points, and 5 BILLION quanta??

You need this far of a lead to be successful in a video game??

You have the knowledge of how the game works, where to put your points, and what makes the most money the fastest... and that's not enough?

how does a wipe, wipe your creativity?   They said you can save your BP.  How is that not enough?

2k on a PC?  that's a solid PC with or without DU.  That's a positive anyway you spin it.

Let me paint you a picture...

You went through school in real life right? and then finally you find your dream job and for 1,5 years you get to do architecture, build space ships, factories and you've worked hard to get that and you made a fortune. Then suddenly the president of the USA is making an announcement: he will take away all that you worked so hard to get and you start wining about it, because you're very sad you will loose everything. Then the president will say: "you still have your education and your drawings of your buildings, so no worries you can start over, so no problem..." 🤪

It's interesting that some seem to now start and try to negotiate terms of a wipe with NQ..

This is NQ's cal lto make, they are wel lwithin their rights and you have agreed to that by entering the game as you can only do so through agreement.

I get that for some a wipe will be a disapointment, I can also understand how some may see it as a reason to no longer play, which is unfortunate but your choice to make.

To be frank, this game has bigger problems than a yes/no on a wipe and if NQ does not address these, none of this matters.

For me, I expect and hope that a wipe happens as I believe it wil lbe in the best interest of the game in the long run. I also hope that NQ does take advantage of thsi wipe to correct some fo the reasons why it is now needed and on that I have my doubts.

If they do not wipe then I think that would be a mistake but so be it.. I believe that coming into a release with a gameworld full of junk and with a good few massively OP playergroups, And that is a point you can only raise (and resolve) at release and not after.

    We'll see

What do you mean 'a gameworld full of junk'...

What do you think a lot of us including me have been doing? We have been cleaning out that junk and also when the timers go zero, all the remaining destroyed cores with what's left on them will vanish. Result: clean gameworld....

The abandonment rules gave me hope that a wipe will not be necessary and I still think it is completely uncalled for.

  7. When you open the website www.dualuniverse.game you will read in bold text:

"Dual universe - the space mmo entirely built and driven by players"

This is actually pretty correct. We, the players built this MMO. Well... atleast the content. And now NQ has plans to destroy our hard work. Wipe it clean. Destroy the market even more than it already was (by the decision of NQ to introduce schematics). Not only will the market be cleansed of all products that are for sale in a reset, but it will be sacked for another half year when NQ introduces power systems if players will still be there to witness that feature... Again our factories will stop working and be idle. Many of you have no idea what the impact will be on players that have large or mega factories. I will tell you what the effect will be: they leave the game utterly disappointed. Me myself I have chosen not to create those factories yet, because I have seen the devastation around a half year ago and I'm more of a salvager. I cleaned up atleast 35 territories which mostly contained large factories. The players left. I requisited their constructs and at this moment there are more than 3000 factory elements in my underground warehouse like furnaces, assembly lines in various sizes, smelters and so on. And since the 1st of May I have been busy possessing abandoned dynamic and static constructs. Today is the 8th of June so I spend more than a month working hard to collect everything and recycling most of the ships I found. Now I know for a fact a lot of other 'vultures' like myself did the same thing. If you think about that you might be able to imagine how many players have left the game, especially after the introduction of schematics. Is NQ doing things right? Yes, they do fortunately! And I hope they will continue to do so and NOT wipe this game in the state as it is in right now. Because abandonment has caused a lot of constructs to be wiped already. Because you don't want to truncate the database in seconds all the work the remaining active players have put in this game. Don't do that please... Personally I think I already spent more than 2,000 hours of work in this game. If you want to wipe something, then I would say wipe all quanta which is above the 5 billion limit so you will hit the peeps that abused the mission system. @NQ if you still want to wipe, then let the remaining active players keep one static construct M or L on one territory of their choice for them to keep besides the one on Sanctuary. So they can put all their honeycomb, elements, schematics, blueprints and so on in containers to keep that stuff safe from the reset. Also don't touch their talent points, maybe reset all talents, but don't touch our points. Let players keep a maximum of 5 billion quanta (owned org quanta included). Give the players enough time to blueprint and after that tear down their cities and buildings and spaceships to prepare for the reset. Give us time to collect our rare and exotic mining units from distant planets where we currently mine our higher tier ores (and I will still be p*ssed about loosing my T5 mining grounds...). Give us time to collect our stuff from the market containers. Give us time to pick that one territory to keep which we have been calling our virtual home. Give us time to document our bookmarks. Stop grieving players by destroying what we've worked for. This game is not just any other game, this is the game the players are building. And don't tell me it's not fair for beginning players if there is no complete wipe... or are we going to wipe anually??? There will always be veteran players and beginning players. A complete wipe won't change that, so stop wining about it.

Wipe our assets, you wipe our creativity and you wipe the content of the game and I'm afraid this will kill Dual Universe.

Is it a real life money problem? I'm a silver backer and I'm willing to put another amount of cash in this game to make it work and I'm sure others will too. (to be honest I already spend almost 2,000 euro to upgrade my hardware to play DU... I must be bonkers...)

Sorry for the rant, but I hope it will give you (NQ) wisdom.

  8. What is the point in playing at this stage??? We NEED to know what will be wiped... because I want to start on a major building project (with all the honeycomb I cleaned up for NQ...) but still no news. Will we have build are cities and bases for nothing??? will our ships be taken away from us? will our major mining sites be lost which we spent hours and hours and hours to find? Will we loose our stockpiles of fuel? elements? talents? grrrrrr 🤬 and what about our schematics and our quanta??? I was going to spend more than a 150 million in quanta for specific schematics, but what's the point? 🤬🤬🤬 Sure we can keep our blueprints..... but I don't want to spend a HALF YEAR mining ore and creating sufficient honeycomb to be able to rebuild what I have NOW!!!!!!

  9. I think 250k quanta for privately owned territories per week and 1m quanta for organisation owned territories would be more fair. If this game is going to force me to work my butt off to pay these taxes for territories I already paid TOO MUCH for in taxes, then I guess there isn't much fun in this game left... it will be work work work and burnout-byebye. No more time to design ships or buildings... Let's keep the old territory system... I don't want to have all these administrative timers and sh*t. Eventually EVE was more work than play. Will you follow, DU? I'm fine with the GEO reset by the way and also the mining units, but this territory upkeep thingy? I hate it. The territories I invested in with many millions will be lost in less than 12 weeks because then I will be bankrupt.

And what about our Sanctuary territory? will we have to pay for that too? you can have it... I don't want it... I will actually never go back to that motherfugly rock. And can we tokenize Sanctuary territory and sell it? this means you can have more than one territory there... how will you enforce that NQ? Have you actually taken into account all the implications? I doubt it...

    1. You do realize that from your perspective the scans would be useless post Demeter anyway right?
    2. You do realize that his was announced as such weeka ago right?
    3. You did watch the VLOG where NQ explained that ore distribution will change and what you see now wil no longer be there right?
    4. You do understand that many now crying over this actually have other reasons to do so right?

    Right?

    1. If I understood correctly from seeing one of the vlogs they said the scans would still be valid as to the ores that were scanned, not the quantity of course. NQ said the existing scans would still be valid... they said it...

    2. I put time in playing the game, I don't have time to cry on the forums each day...

    3. See 1.

    4. No I don't understand, I think atleast 60% of the all the territories all over the galaxy haven't been scanned. There is still good stuff to be found. Let the players who worked their asses off keep their territories with the precious ores on them.

    Right?

  11. we will be clearing all scan results from the game when Demeter goes live...

    Wait.... WHAT???

This means all the f**king hundreds of hours we spent on finding precious ores and the paying of f**king hundreds of millions of quanta in tax to own those territories AND the investments of buying the multiple f**king territory scanners AND building f**king special ships to do the scanning will ALL be in vain... THANK YOU NQ! with this decision you listen to the cry babies who will drop out of the game if they don't get it their way. They will always be dissatisfied... AND NOW you will loose a lot of veteran players spending so much wasteful energy and time and quanta on improving their status in DU. I think you underestimate the impact... RIP NQ.

  12. A few points of attention please NQ...

    • A lot of old players like myself have paid 10 to 100 of millions of tax quanta while claiming territory. I think we should be reimbursed for the number of tiles we have in our possession.
    • Don't just reset mining skills, reset ALL skills points (See Jeronimo's post with legit reasons a few above this post).
    • Don't give us the excavation tool for a few weeks... the tool might be used for other purposes...

You're still in your honeymoon period.

When you have literally spent an entire week of your playtime doing nothing but mining every minute of your playtime, you'll change your tune.

    Still having an  A W E S O M E  time.

I do realise this game is not for everyone, so if you hate dealing with issues or other difficult tasks you might be better off playing Doom Eternal or Mario Carts.

  14. Support chat in it's current state is not working as it should. Too much talk about other stuff there. At the moment there is just too much confusion with many players and I feel bad about it. Support is extremely important to keep the player base happy and satisfied. Things can and should be improved. Maybe the chat channel labels can be more clear, maybe add a description with the purpose for every chat channel when a player gets online and sees the chat channel for the first time. Also players should get bans for a few hours or so if they abuse the chat channel's purpose. Maybe there are not enough employees at NQ to moderate the chat channels all the time, but maybe NQ could work with volunteer players to moderate some channels. Chat channels should be moderated.

    Here ar my thoughts:

    • player support for stranded peeps should be in a channel called: "local support" (I will not fly to Madis to help someone stranded while I'm on Sanctuary...)
    • player support (no local help needed) should be the channel: "support"
    • there should be a discussion chat (universal) to chat about DU wherever you are. Channels: "discussion EN", "discussion FR", "discussion DE".

No chitchat in the support channels, do it somewhere else... (discussion, coorporate, local)

Rules are there to make life easier and more clear.

Just a few thoughts, sorry about the rant.

  15. Good stuff!

    • We need a way for a creator to be able to transfer their “creatorship” to another player/org.

As a creator you should be able to rightclick on the core of the construct and produce a 'proof of creatorship' which can be transferred to another person or organisation.

What still needs to be answered is the question: if you transfer creatorship, will you (the original creator) still be creator or will that right/privilege be removed when he passes the 'contract of creatorship'?

    Possible answer:

    1. we need to be able to share creatorship, let's say we call this 'share of creatorship'
    2. and we need to be able to full transfer creatorship, let's call that 'testament of creatorship'

    Just my two cents...

As for initial privs/flags... I think everything should be protected by default. If you don't want protection, take it off. We cannot have it the other way because people who really need protection can forget to activate it and that could be a disaster for a ship designer. Taking DRM off, should be easy for all four elements: core, honeycomb, controller and screens. Just right click on construct / advanced / remove DRM and then the question "are you surely sure sure to take it off?" and then I think we're on track.

  16. I think there is a bug on paying tax while putting down a Territory Unit to claim a territory.

    1. I don't know the exact amounts, but when I put down my first TU it was like 125,000 h.
    2. I put down a second and it was 250,000 h.
    3. I put down a third and it was 500,000 h.

I removed the third and... ok no tax refund, which is fine.

    1. I want to put the third TU which I retrieved on a third territory ....aaand I pay 1,000,000 h !!! why?

I would expect the 500k and not the 1m, that would seem logical, right?

Is this a bug? could you please fix this NQ? if not.... ?

    Hmmmmmm. Nothing suspicious here...

What game (don't say space engineers...) will let you build stuff like I'm building?

I totally love the voxelmancy and I love to design ships, so yeah I'm happy with the game in its current state.

I'm seeing a lot of features like LUA scripting and specific talents for designers to build better ships (because they trained these specific talents) which I absolutely find awesome.

Also I love the scenery. I'm currently based on Alioth in the tropical region (as you can see in the image) and it's just beautiful.

So... nothing suspicious here... I'm only saying I love what NQ does, but that's just because I love those specific features which I find really sick.

I do understand there is still a lot to be done to this game and I hope (I actually expect...) that NQ will continue to improve the game.

So I'm gonna mention it again: Thanks NQ, I'm grateful for this game. I do hope it will be better with the economy, pvp and so on.
