  1. Economy is far from dead. Does stuff insta sell on the market? no, It can be weeks for an item to sell, but then the next week you can hardly keep the stuff stocked. You will always sell ore. Its a great way to make money. Even those people with multiple accounts and years of gameplay still sell ore. There are other ways to make money besides selling ore and factory work. (selling ship/ship designs, Selling station/station designs, Selling ore locations, Transporting goods for players, Running aphilia missions, skilling up in Handling skills and buffing other peoples things, Selling things you pirate, And soon what ever these alien things bring us, might even find a situation of guns for hire being a thing. A new player can compete with players with multiple accounts/years of gameplay in industry. You can hire people to touch your machines so they are running at max efficiency. If you dont like territory scanning you dont have to. Other people like to scan and you can buy scans off of them. You want random new resources? we already got those they are called asteroids, you want more? Well the new alien mechanic coming in is going to be just that. This infatuation that a wipe is going to make everything great is just laughable. You say your tired of mining ore just to sell because industry is not worth it for new players. Well with a wipe, industry is not going to be worth it for new players. Atleast not solo players. Its going to be the group of 20 or 50 people that work industry togeather. And they are not going to sell those first things cheap. So while you say your tired of selling ore, with a wipe your going to mine allot more and sell allot more to be able to buy the things your buying now. Basically your way better off now as a new player then you would be after a wipe.
  2. There is only 3 reasons for a wipe. 1, New game mechanic is not compatible with old mechanic. 2, Give new players a level playing field. (although new players are better off joining now as they can reap more benefits from others work.) 3, fix the perceived problem with economy (those that got cheap exploit schematics, however that is such a small part of the game wiping because of this would do more harm. And maybe a 4th reason of some fantasy that players will flock to DU on a wipe. But is that really going to happen?
  3. MU's are bringing more ore into the game then mining supernodes ever could. Couple that with supplementing ore with asteroids. And even more is coming in. Just have to look at the ore prices to see this. I have MUed more T4 then I ever scanned, let alone mined. I had thousands of scans. same goes for T3, and soon T2, If I give the amount of time to MU's that I gave to grounding mining and T1 will be the same. The only real difference now is I dont have the ability to go out and bang several supernodes in a week for huge short term influxes. Although I do wonder if these new Alien platforms are going to be the new way to bring in large quantities short term.
  4. This is not eve. you dont have to skill everything before you get to the meta skills. You can specialize in Railguns without having to put a single skill into Laser, Missile, or Cannons. You can specialize in M weapons with minimal skills in S weapons. You can specialize in industry handing without ever touching efficiency. You can specialize in efficiency without ever touching handling. You can specialize in Products without ever specializing in pures. You can specialize in plastics without ever touching metals. You can specialize in production without ever touching mining.
  5. Also once you place the point you are going to mine, instead of clicking finish click the x to close the window. And the x on the next window. Closes instantly instead of waiting for animations.
  6. But there is max thrust. IE if our engines only exhaust at 30k, once your going 30k your not going to go any faster. And if each one of those exhaust particles can only push so much mass. You could reach a point where with the same engine a lighter ship reaches the max speed that the thrust allows. where a heavier ship will not reach that max speed that the thrust allows.
  7. If all L cored ships where L sized, If all M core ships where M sized, if all S core ships where S sized. I would agree. But you can get a medium core ship that weighs 10KT, and you can get a Large core ship that weighs 1KT. Core size does not reflect ship size. And this is something I said from day 1 when they added shields to PTS. Shield HP should be a multiple of voxel HP. Restricting L shields to L core only would be bad for the game.
  8. Beautiful thing about asteroids/the upcoming alien stuff, they can always be added in when demand needs it.
  9. Apartments give you a place to store your things if you dont own a tile on that planet. A place to store fuel, scrap, ammo. They generally come with a parking place for ships. Dont think of it as a RL apartment where you eat, sleep, and shit. But more of a location where you have a stash of basic necessities when your away from your home. Although we do have several people who have it as there primary residence. And the shops are perfect for small manufactures who dont want to setup a whole territory just to sell a couple items.

  12. You mean you want intake? Where an intake needs to be placed and linked to an engine? or you talking about separating the combustion chamber and pumps from the nozzle where you place the nozzle on the outside and the combustion chamber and pumps where ever you want but need to link them together?

  14. some factory skills are size dependant. Core deployment is size dependant. Radars are size dependant. Ammo is size dependant. The only thing that is not size dependant is engines/manuvering/thrusters. If your argument is uniformity. then maybe the things that are not size dependant, should get new skills to make them size dependant. But onto your first question "Why are PvP weapon talents size specific?" Its because its a game that needs progression for players to unlock. It allows specialization. Sure everyone wants to be jack of all trades. Allowing for specialization makes players who specialize more sought after, atleast in what ever the current fad is.
  15. Currently there is no RDMS for warp beacons. The way they currently work is if you place it on a personal core only you can warp to it. If you place it in an organization anyone inside that org can warp to that beacon. There is no RDMS needed once you are inside an org that has a beacon. And yes there is a 24 hour period once placed for them to become active and allow players to warp to them. There needs to be a right added to the game such as "allow warp". Where a player or org can then select the actors they want to use that beacon. And the right "allow warp". And add the tags you set to either the warp beacon itself or the core that the beacon is on.
  16. If your XS ship is getting one shot by a L core. Then you have 0 protection on it. And with that said even a L ship can get 1 shot by L ship with 0 protection on it.
  17. A way nq could fix issues like this would allow players to pack a core. It would essentially disassemble a core and put it into a linked container (providing it has enough space) in packages by form. The player could then deploy that core at a new location. With all the original rdms and DRM in place.
  18. 75 days is the current timer for non subscribers. So yes paying customers are more important than non pay customers. And its 7 days at markets regardless of your importance. I do agree that the lack of notifications should be changed. I mean your going to give us a notification everytime someone calibrates on our territory. But nothing when a ship becomes abandoned. And really emails should be sent out when this is going to happen.

    Pumping unit

    How is what you are asking for different from a transfer unit. Currently transfer units can go from one container to multiple containers. You tell it what item to move. You then tell it to keep moving items or move a set amount of items or maintain a certain amount of items in the destination container. I do wish there was a 4th setting of maintain x amount in the orgin container
  21. Really hoping these alien cores have modules on them that can only be gotten from the alien cores. That way players want to go there. And not just another way to get ore. And once you start picking the item up. There is a 22 hour timer before the item can be removed from the core. (A way to create a choke point for conflict)
  22. Please fix warp beacon rdms to make it so you can set people/orgs to warp to specific beacons.
  23. A beacon in random space not in the pipe between the two plants would defeat your plan. Could always add in a ~50su gas cloud around the planet that prevents warp. Maybe even have the gas increase lock and firing ranges. But then if they add in this gas cloud system. They would not even need to add another planet. Put these random pockets of gas in space along pipes. Have so if your warping and you warp through one of these gas clouds. Your ship stops in the middle and you need to fly out of it before you can warp again.
  24. Sanctuary, sanctuary sanctuary. If you want your stuff safe and you are going to be away for awhile be sure to park it on your sanctuary tile. It is the only place that will always be safe.
  25. More items and more item variations is always a good thing. A 1,000 different adjustors, a 1,000 different wings. all different specs and sizes. The only downside to this is market sorting.
