  1. I don't play anymore but I'll jump in on this discussion. End game right now in DU seems to focus on Asteroids, but that's basically out of reach for a new player within a reasonable timeframe. Yes I'm aware that there are public DSAT's out there but that doesn't fix the issue. A player still needs a ship to be able to reach said asteroid but sometimes you reach the asteroid and all ore is gone. It has already been stripped so you've wasted x amount of time getting somewhere just to feel completely demoralised once you arrive. That combined with that fact that roids only spawn once per week is a kick in the teeth if you can't play the game on a weekend. Most if not all safe zones roids are gone typically by the end of the weekend. So what other options do new players have, Setup on Sanc, deploy auto miners and mine surface rocks until your fingers fall off? I understand this was all done to improve performance, but at the detriment of actually being able to progress. This game was fun, but it became a job one which we are paying for, something strangely odd with that concept! Some obvious fixes. 1. Increase mining output of units. 2. Increase No. of calibrations stored or increase the duration that a calibrated machine lasts for as the mini game is soul destroying! 3. Increase the volume of surface rocks, add variety. 20L per rock when clearly they are all different sizes doesn't make sense. 4. Mining talents should affect surface rocks 5. Remove schematics from anything that can be made in the nanocrafter or better yet anything T1. 6. Adjust Territory tax so it's a sliding scale, 1m for T1 and the same for higher tiers makes no sense at all. 7. Dynamic spawning of asteroids, several times per week or even everyday. You know like in EVE where roids actually work!
  2. Unfortunately I gave all my stuff away about a week ago, I abandoned everything. Was about 2bill quanta worth of stuff on Alioth. I would think it has all gone by now. I did have small outposts on other planets but I'm sure they will be gone too. 1 on Madis, 1 on Thades and another on Sinnen.
  3. I have decided to close my account as the recent changes have just been too much for me to continue. I made some cool things and the concept was fun but it seriously needs some work for it to succeed. Who knows maybe I'll try again if the game ever officially releases but until then fly safe o7. And to the new owner of my Rorqual whomever you are, Enjoy.
  4. Base volume, 50 for a small, 100 for a large. Get more bang for your buck if you place larges.
  5. Welcome to the afk simulator. Setup your mining units, wait for calibrations to arrive. Calibrate your machines, wait for the pitiful amount of ore to arrive. Spend a week accumulating enough ore to build something for 5 mins. Back to EVE I guess. These numbers need adjusting. I don't have the energy to go on about this as everyone is saying the same. No point providing feedback because it falls on deaf ears. Nothing has changed from the pts, these numbers seem largely the same from what I can see.
  6. This, for any new player coming into this game the sheer volume of abandoned constructs would be massively negative. Yes these have been left by players but not enough is done to address the issue. Virtually every market is a graveyard of dynamic constructs and is frankly disgraceful.
  7. The mini game is quick, albeit very repetitive or at least I found it that way. I had 11 mining units over 2 tiles on the pts and lost the will to live just doing that. Imagine having many scatterered across several planets. The gameplay is a necessity if you want to maintain a certain level of efficiency but it's not all that engaging.
  8. That sounds about right. Obviously based on current ore prices. Worth noting that I also had 4 territories on Alioth so the tile with MU's on was getting an adjaceny bonus of 40%. So these numbers would be a lot lower if it was only a single territory. The max bonus is 60%, 10% per adjacent tile.
  9. A territory scanner is recommended so you know what the outputs of the tile are. If you have existing scans these should provide revised data on Demeter release so you wouldn't need to rescan existing tiles. From what I could gauge on the pts the available ore types are very much random as are the volumes. All of the tiles I had scanned on Alioth only had Tier 1 (Approximately 20 tiles scanned none had any tier 2), not known at this stage if this will continue to live but assume it will. You will need a mining unit or units per ore type. So a minimum of 4 (A MU for each tier 1) but it really depends on the volume per hour as there is a maximum each mining unit can extract. For example the tile I had on Alioth that I setup MU's on was using a total of 7 MU's to extract the maximum that tile could generate per hour. You need a static construct to place the MU. I'd recommend at least a medium container unless you plan to empty it regularly as each MU will be linked to the same container. Once the MU is calibrated it effectively lasts for 2 days before it starts to lose calibration, this is calculated as 0.625% per hour or 15% per day. So you would typically recalibrate every 3-4 days depending on what level of efficiency you're looking for. Note with perfect talents you acquire a calibration charge every 3.5 hours (Upto a maximum of 10) so potentially you will not be able to calibrate every machine and will have to pick and choose those which are of priority to you.
  10. My opinion on this is largely irrelevant as I have already quit. But, for a game which is still in development I can't see the justification for the price increase. This statement of "Keeping a competitive price versus other MMOs whose monthly charge is in the vicinity of 15 EUR/USD per month" means nothing as other MMO's are finished, in a final state and have substantially more content than what DU has to offer for a similar fee.
  11. These changes are not the game I signed up for. These mining units feels a lot like planetary interaction in EVE, minimal input for a payout which gets repetitive very quickly. Been playing Beta for over a year and the upcoming changes don't fill me with joy. Not going to add anything else as It's already been said aside from NQ short sightedness has led to this. Not enough steps in place to restore underground conditions post mining, other voxel based games can do it but DU simply cannot in it's current state. Might be back in the future to try again (Assuming it still exists by then) but for now my Novean life is over. Fly safe all, and yes you can have my stuff. Probably a couple of bill of stuff on Alioth and all cores have been abandoned, happy hunting! o7
  12. With the ongoing discussion surround a wipe it certainly demotivates me to continue. I play solo and the thought of losing all I have built doesn't sit well with me. I started on beta launch much like many others and I only started as the topic of discussion back then was the final wipe had been done. I could live with a partial wipe though I have no idea what that could consist of. But if a full wipe were on the cards for release I don't think I would have the energy to start all over again.
  13. The wipe argument seems to be a consistent thing in discord. I for one hope that doesn't happen as the 1500 hours or so I have in DU would certainly make my left eye twitch! I can see the postives and the negatives for a wipe but one of the defining reasons why I started during the beta was the apparent 'no more wipes'. I would certainly feel discouraged if I had to effectively start again. I agree that there are many tiles on several planets which are owned by people whom either do not play anymore or are stockpliing resources (I fall into the latter as I have TU's on virtually every planet). There needs to be some kind of upkeep for TU's. Either a raw quanta cost which increases based on the number of units or fuel requirements to keep them ticking over. The latter would promote the need to actually have to go to the planets and refuel or whatever if you actually wanted to keep them. If the fuel runs out then the tile is deemed abandoned and up for grabs along with any constructs present.
  14. Has anyone had responses from NQ regarding this? I submitted a ticket yesterday but to be honest I'm still waiting on a response to a very similar ticket from over a month ago. The lack of support / updates to the community is very concerning.
