    if DAC are stealable then it will become a physical curency, so much more than just a pass to the game, generating lust and abuses in all the bad ways
     
    For example new players aware of nothing, carying on a freshly aquiered from a Steam promotion package, 20 Dacs without really knowing what it is, but for them just a 2 monthes subscribtion to the game, and loosing them on the first day?
     
    What would long time players say to this new player?
    - Its your fault, you should have read the 20 topics about on the forum and devblog before playing?
    - You must join us on the behalf of our hole mighty organisation we will secure your future 15€ spent?
     
    This topic is a joke right? 
     
    How would NQ reach 100 thousands players if the 5000 first players from alpha already planning to literrally scare the shit out their pants the  995 000 that will join at realease
     
    Be realistic and stop thinking you are already the Emperor of the Universe, but do compromises for this game to be THE game that will fit a majority not a minority

    I always thought Space Engineers way of gravity was a little awkward, what with just a big box. If two ships of differing orientations but 1g downward gravity get close to each other, and the wells extend beyond the ships, then things get goofy for both ships. I personally would prefer a gravity generator placed on a ship to make gravity happen in a specific way according to the voxels on the ship, so that the gravity would extend a certain height above every single section of the ship, and not have gravity out in space in the ships vicinity. Then also available would be a way to have radial or spherical gravity, but it all would depend on the voxels connected to the generator, not merely the proximity of the generator.
     
    So rather than a gravity generator having its own field, a gravity generator would cause each voxel the generator is connected to to have its own individual gravity field. This would make close fleet battles, something hopefully a significant factor in the game, less awkward in terms of gravity.
     
    For something like cylindrical radial gravity, you could have the center be through the gravity generator, and then all voxels would have a gravity field away from that center line.

    You can resolve this very quickly by having any purchased DACs not exist in the game until the player goes to an ark ship terminal or uses the game menus to "release" them, it could be as simple as "You have 20 DAC on your account would you like to activate one now or transfer them to your inventory?"
     
    Obviously if you are going to sell them on in game market you need to release them to become an ingame item with all the risks that are involved with that but if a player is purchasing DACs for themselves from NQ for personal use there should be no risks, its to important

    Steal DAC = force people to leave the game. If NQ will allow that, that will say they don't care about the population of the game. Since this is real money, not just gold or something it will be accepted too offensive from these noobs.
     
    This would be a really stupid step from NQ. I don't know much about EVE, but I'm sure, it secure everything (or almost everything) while player offline. And no need to tell about "Territory Security Beacons" and safe zones.
    As from marketing side, this will be a big mistake, which will hurt the reputation of the company (reviews and negative posts on websites).

    Band of Outlaws is a growing community of gamer's within Dual Universe. Our goal when the game launches is to provide a community environment for all play styles. While our theme and preference leans towards the renegades and outlaws, we are also happy to accept traders, builders, and anything else in between. We want to encourage everyone in Dual Universe who has a heart for a sense of community and gaming to join us, whether as individuals or with your own group. Either way, we have a growing support network that anyone can benefit from.
     
    We understand games can be hard to commit to, and acknowledge the fact that people have lives outside of the internet. We won't force you to do anything, the only thing we want you to do is to have fun and play the game your way, hopefully with us among friends.

    THE PLAN:
     
    Band of Outlaws wants to create a community for those who wish to play out their inner rebel, whether that be through pirating, smuggling, being a mercenary, a bounty hunter, and everything else in between. That is just a small portion of what our community is going to accomplish, as we have been steadily growing in several other games such as Battlefield 1, Conan Exiles, and several more. We want members to join a family of fellow, like minded internet nerds than just some faction in a singular game.
     
    That said, we certainly plan to have Dual Universe as our focus when the game launches, and we have several projects in our development pipeline for our community to participate in when the time comes. I'll list an example of such below.
     
    • Project Tortuga: Band of Outlaws plans to accomplish many tasks within Dual Universe with the help of volunteers within our community. We want to create a safe haven for outlaws like you and I, and are planning to construct a free port away from prying organizations who seek to control everything. Dubbed "Project Tortuga", our free port will be available for anyone to use, not just the Band of Outlaws. This project has also been extended to the greater Dual Universe community, and with the help of the Band of Outlaws, we can all have a place to call home.

    THE OVERVIEW:
     
     
    • Primary language: English primarily.   • Time zone: We accept anyone from around the globe.   • Goal:  To create a support network for players in DU, providing benefits for mercenaries, bounty hunters, you name it. We plan to have several internal services established to let you play out your character in DU.     • A discord server that is managed 24/7 with hundreds of members playing various games.

    • An actual gaming community of internet nerds, with the number one focus being fun. This family is open to all.

    HOW DO WE OPERATE?
     
    Band of Outlaws is not out to be the next mega corporation with an umbrella controlling every sub-organization within our community. We operate under a general community management system with our Managers and Moderators doing all of the admin work so everyone else can enjoy whatever game we are playing.
     
    Within the context of Dual Universe, right now our management for this game is open ended until the game launches and we can see where we need certain positions filled.

    DBAD CLAUSE - RULE:
     
    Band of Outlaws will not drag you down with rule after rule. To sum up how we expect members to behave - don’t be a dick. We’re all here to have fun, and there is no reason to be rude to each other. This includes flaming, hate speech, starting drama etc. Let’s act like grown men and women. This also extends to how members are expected to act towards other organizations/communities. Be respectful, regardless of affiliations.

    but i never meant repairing by hand. in that way u arent sure repairing same as blueprint
     
    an automatic repair, with a special tool, a garage... sucking your material from inventory, if u have enough, is more appropriate

    For small, fighter class ships, a simple ADWS and Mouse controlled simple would do fine. For larger ships, it would make sense for there to be a slightly more advanced system. For example, you could predefine the flight path. There should also be an option to manually control the larger ships, in the event that the path ahead could be changing and be unpredictable. (Such as inside an astroid belt where there are astroids flying everywhere)

    True, and theres some that wont care about the game at all but get joy out of ruining other peoples play.
     
    NQ will have to see which aspects of the game are most desired and utilized, and improve and expand those as a priority.
     
    That is why I like the P2P model, if NQ fails to do that subs will drop hurting the company. It keeps them looking at what the community would like. And if thats voxels smaller then 25cm so be it, Id like that too. But I want to see a functional game first to prove it can work and get a source of steady funding for them to keep developing.

    How about increasing the quality of any material by decreasing its quantity, for example you have 10kg of Fe1 and can forge it to be 5kg of Fe2 or 2kg of Fe3, just by a process of purifying this material. Not sure once it reached the higher quality level you could reverse the process

    uhm.... people? ever heard of dual contouring (for the ones arguing over the enormounsness of the 25cm voxels)? they use that in DU, this allows for some degree of detail withing the 25cm volume, like slopes.
     
    the point is a data point and a voxel are not exclusive, in the contrary. a datapoint is not a voxel, but a voxel has at least one datapoint to be able to be rendered. Euclidion has never demonstrated physics or real time modification, thus cannot be considered a voxel engine, but rather a datapoint visualizer.
     
    if you want higher fine tuning of your structures i have already said in another post we could have custom parallax/bumpmap/custom shader textures and that would be feasible as option for people with monster rigs. Opengl is quite versatile in that manner. it would even be possible to use tesselation and a 3D texture to determine custom voxel interiors, or even raytraced voxel interiors for fractal effects.
     
    all that is feasible. depending on their rendering engine, if they have enough control it could be implemented in 1-2 sprints.
