  1. Would prefer they just calculate micro gravity once a week and push these constructs closer to the planets, until they are eventually crashed on the surface to be salvaged by everybody. But a black hole where you could get caught in and lose salvage shit would be funny.
  2. Being able to export/import ships as XML would be great, but most builders would have this function turned off if they sold their ships as then they would lose control; but be great for personal and open source ships. Be great for the 3rd party discords/sites which sell ships; but once again only for open source
  3. If you are allowed to use radar while in warp to scan for ships; then radar works and you get all ships, including fellow warpers. seems fair.
  4. Self destruction is just being a sore loser because you went into the PvP zone, where it sounds like you don't really belong, you got caught and you don't want the other side to benefit from the work of catching you. But NQ are trying to force people into the PvP zone who don't want to be there. The asteroids with the good ore are out there. You can't go looking for them in the planets once the patch lands. The response of just arm your ship isn't realistic though. Pirates are skilled to the max in the weapon talents where non PvP aren't. PvP have ships designed for chasing and killing. A heavy hauler can't compete or escape these. So yes, a hauler who gets discovered is screwed, no arming won't help them. So I feel the pain for the PvE players (which I am), but I still don't believe you should be able to take away everything that a PvP player (which I'm not) as hunted for. My solution is different to yours. Jettison device. If you have a jettison element installed, it has so many charges (probably based on size) and you can use them to start jettisoning cargo or ship elements etc.. The jettison containers kind of act like a small core with a container attached. They act independently to the ship construct. They can be tracked using your map construct menu. Only difference is that if they aren't collected in a week they are gone (or broadcast I suppose). How would this work? - If you are being chased you can start jettisoning cargo and elements. - They fly off in a random direction away from your ship. - Now the pirates have to actually make a decision, do they want to keep chasing you and the ship and what is left of your cargo. If this is the case then if you die you can latter try to locate your jettisoned cargo and get it back. If the pirates keep chasing you, the cargo quickly goes out of range in a different direction and they lose that. - If the pirates chase your jettisoned items then odds are by the time they catch up with them and retrieve them; you have escaped radar contact and got free. Naturally the problem is deciding how much to ditch. And the pirates have to decide if you are bluffing and firing off empty pods; or if you are panicking and throwing your cargo to collect latter. It all of a sudden means getting caught isn't necessary a total loss. It means the pirates actually get to work for their loot rather than finding a hauler, locking on and waiting until it is destroyed. Could even add a new mission type of retrieve pod if you don't want to go back to PvP space, or you need to sell the cargo to be able to afford to replace your ship. TLDR; - self destruct no, sore loser - jettison mechanism to make the pirates decide to chase you or what you may be trying to fire off for collection latter, not both.
  5. We won't get drones, as all constructs are controlled client side. Your ship is speeding through space, you log off and it stops unless somebody else stands on it and then it moves as it is running on their client. So no client, no movement. While I suppose it would be possible for them to run some servers which are just there to run them, really can't see that happening. They gave us delivery missions, but due to abuse the don't get used as much as they could, as the market to market delivery jobs are the only ones safe from abuse.
  6. It gives you %10 per hex, but each hex costs you more tax, so if you are just using it for the %10, then no it’s not worth it. But the way ore is distributed is a heat map, which means got pockets of ore aren’t in isolation from each hex. So if you have a very good hex for a particular hex, there is a reasonable chance that the hex’s around them are reasonable. So therefore if you mine those as well, both hex’s get the bonus from each o her are are now worth it
  7. I like it in general, but I have one issue. This new system is removing a very large role, the casual or planetary miner. They are gone, but this new system has not added a new role. Because of the limit on charges you can’t spend five or six hours being the mining unit guy who goes around keeping everybody’s MUs in the org running. Probably to late at this stage, but what I would (personally) recommend for future adjustments would be... - have a series of talents which say how many mining units a person can own like there already is with cores. You could even do the progression for bigger mining units like there are for larger cores. - have a talent tree of how efficiently you can make MUs run - have a talent tree on the cooldown between calibration. Once that was installed, the only difference I would make is remove the cooldown from the player and move it to the MU. This way if somebody went and invested lots of points to be able to run MUs very efficiently, they could go around five hours a day if they wanted making all of theirs and the org mates MUs running as well as possible. Yes the friends/org mates would have to invest in the talents to get more and higher level MUs, but the other two talent trees would only be necessary for the hard core MU guys. So this is what I would recommend, don’t take away a role in the game without replacing it with a new one. Me personally, haven’t mined in 4-6 months. But I’ll have a few units on a hex running, especially if I find a sweet hex. But I’d rather have somebody else who enjoys that type of stuff run then and take a cut; just like I run missions for lots of players and take a cut.
  8. Then again 94 votes is a pretty much we don’t care response to the poll
  9. How about the terrain talents we all boosted for faster and bigger digging while looking ore. These will be of no use either, can these please be added to the list.
  10. Can't remember, but I'll take your word for it The difference is in Elite dangerous, it's not that dangerous. You can quickly gain money with little risk. First doing trading, then doing exploring or mining. You can play completely in a non PvP group or solo if you wish. You aren't running out and grabbing territory which once you have you get to keep and everybody who joins latter has to travel further further to get the same benefits if they can find them at all. Missions and Mining seemed to be the main way for noobs to make money in DU, and now you are taking away the ability to grind the mining to get ahead. You can't compete in industry for ages as you are competing with people with a huge talent head start and probably better supply lines. You can't compete with mining as there are hardly any safe zone asteroids and it takes awhile before you have the skills and resources to try and poach from the others. You can't compete in trade (like ED) as people in the market are more talented. It's going to make the new user experience feel slower and more unfair, or have people pressured into orgs to follow directions/orders in the hope for scraps handed down from the elite. No I don't have a solution, just concerns.
  11. I'm talking about T4 and T5 which are rare as ants teeth. I have friends who are sitting on 1600+ scans. Not because they were waiting on this, just because they had them. As soon as they are on, they'll be searching through those scans and going for gold (pun intended). I may be wrong, and the fact that you can only keep so many mining machines going will probably help, but it comes down to an expanding game with a non expanding resource. The other issue is, either the tax will be high enough, that the game feels like a chore as you can't take a break for a few months without risking losing your hex, or the tax will be so small that the rich people will have dozens paid in advanced for years. Both are a issue. Its like Carriers on Elite Dangerous. Sure I saved up the billion+ to buy one, but I don't have one as I like to take breaks from games; come back six months latter. But with a tax or you lose all your toys you are forced to a schedule.
  12. My main concern with auto-miners is that just like the current planets were scanned and all the good hexs were taken, won't this very quickly happen for the hexs which contain good resources as well. While this is good for the people who log on in the first hour or two of the patch coming live and going through there old scans, how about the people who show up a day latter, a week latter, or join the game in three months time? Every title in the safe zone with a good ore will be taken, and new players won't be in a position to contest outer planet hexs because if they are still safe zone they will largely be gone; and if they have the safe zone removed they will be protected by players who have good resources and good bank to guard them. While I see one option as adding more planets or a new system, this will just make the place look even more empty as the player base spread over the galaxy. The only solution I would see is that new solar systems are added and each is only then added one planet at a time. This will cause dense migration to a new safe planet. The new planets will need to be richer resource wise, otherwise why would the current userbase who already have good claims move along. Just curious what the thinking is for new players long term options, other than being forced to join an org, with these new plans. Oh and please release a new system, I want to explore, even if I have to travel for a week or more in a ship to get there!
  13. it's going to really kill the players who mine 5-9 hours/day as they will no longer be able to grind in the ore
  14. We definably need a talent respec. I'm an underground miner, but have never been to an asteroid as I have no interest in the PvP aspect of the game and the safe space ones are low tier and go so fast. Would be a loss of a lot of my talent points if I were stuck with something I wouldn't use anymore
  15. Not a problem, always going ng to be the rich and the poor. may take a little time to get a ship that can run 200 missions from scratch though, and I feel sorry for you having to cycle through that many toons!
  16. Why wipe back to .23; if you are going to do it, do it all the way. We had issues before .23. Lots of good hex’s claimed by people never to return. Exploits already taken advantage of. if needed, blank slate, but first fix the issues so people just don’t repeat them again.
  17. player markets will be a hard thing to do. If you just let player make Markets like the NPC ones, all of a sudden your market search will have hundreds of different markets on Alioth. How will any of them be able to get on top; if they don't then we will keep going to market 6. NQ are going to have to look very long and hard to workout how to make markets. As for orgs, vs free enterprise; that depends on what players want. Not every player wants to mine, set up a factory, and sell their goods until they have a mega factory and a mega shop. Some just want to set up their factory, some want to play the stock/market game. Some like mining, others want to PvP. The good orgs are there to try and help along the way to get there. People group together in Orgs as we work more efficiently in groups than induvial. Real life, I work, so I can buy food, I don't grow food, I don't make my own game. Game life, I like factories and running missions. I can't design a ship to save myself but the org helped me with one of their designers. I hate going and trading on the market; so I work out what our guild needs and sell to them. If your Org just makes you a mine slave, maybe its not Orgs are evil, maybe you just in the wrong one.?
  18. Screw food, I want to plant a forest on Feli so one day I can wander around not wearing my helmet!
  19. The PTS is open, we know how much the schematics (may) cost, we need to know what you need to make them (currently). This gives us enough to save up the quanta for the schematics, have the production lines ready and at the point that all re have to do is plug in the schematics and press start. I know it doesn’t go all the way, but it means you can be ready to press fly to the purchase point, purchase, come back and press start. That’s not the same but pretty close right?
  20. She keeps buying ore (not as much now the market is crazy) I always figured she should sell the same amount she buys on a different planet at a higher cost. But yes being able to select from a list of rewards would be cool. Include schematics (or parts of for the big ones), ores, elements and maybe even an unknown asteroid for example
  21. To do that system they could let you mine any asteroids you feel like, but 24hrs after people put holes in an asteroid, it collided with a different one and destroys itself and all its tunnels from the database. If the field ever got depleted they could have a game event of a small stray moon drifting towards the field, and after a week it collides, kills any bases left on it and respawns the field of asteroids ?
  22. The first version will be terrible. They will I’ll put something in the test server to play with, but they won’t put everything in as they want a surprise on patch day People will give lots of feedback, none of it will be taken into account for the first version as it’s already pretty much set by the time it makes it to test server some causal with only two or three hours of game a session will find one an hour before he is finished. Figures well at least I’ll get one hour to mine he will get there and find that either the scanner range is way to large, five other people are already there and it has been mined out, or a pirate found it and is shooting miners from 2km away as they approach NQ will spawn one astroid a day and give themselves a tick on the front page for new feature.... .... or they could do it great; but I’m guessing quite a few patch’s before they get it right
  23. The problem they are trying to solve is nested orgs getting cheap hex’s; seems simple, if an org doesn’t have a player as a super, you go up the super chain until you run into a real player as a super. Now for any org, you base the price for the next TCU placement based on the supers org TCU count. If he has 11 TCUs over various orgs he is the super for, then simple the next hex which is claimed by one of the orgs he is super ofmcounts and costs as number 12. No problems.
  24. You may need to make contact with a factory guy if they are not on market; or even worst buy a higher grade than you require if they are available. I think a lot of people make advanced and don’t bother with uncommon industry ?
