  1. I think they are using discord to ease load on the game servers. It’s a nice work Round since discord is already a great chat service. Honestly I would just love to see them plug discord into the game then you could chat into the game from your phone without having to log into the game.
  2. This idea sounds great like central hexs are safe zones for the owner/org but borders can be contested. And enemies/neutrals could still enter your zones to see what you have built/use your markets and such unless you hide your assets underground.
  3. Not quite sure about OPs idea but some kind of exploration features that could make you money once the new systems are added would be great. Maybe instead of selling planet maps something like warp locations to new planets or maybe getting exp for discoveries would be nice. Of course there would need to be something to prevent to much reselling or the original finders won’t make much.

I really like these two ideas, luckily I think salvage/recycling is on the map to be added as there needs to be a way to get rid of damaged ships. hopefully they do add some kind of dirt into ore mechanic but with Super low yields. Se did a great job of this where it requires a lot of power to run this kind of industrial units and DU will be getting power later on

    The scanner crosses borders, so if you’re mining a deposit in your own hex and scan again it can pick up ore across the border with no way to stop it. This becomes a larger issue underground since ore “300m”(Or whatever)away could be in any direction even in another hex.
  6. Well it’s not about the space the containers take up its the space used by the ore going into those containers and the fact that needing 2 containers instead of just one doubles the cost. For example if I want to refine a large container worth of ore as input to refineries I need Another large container at the output, instead of it just coming from then going back into the same container unless I monitor it constantly.
  7. As an industrialist I’m all for automated mining so long as you have to maintain it, defend it, and have skills/items to set it up. Honestly in eve miners were never the problem it was the PVErs who just printed isk killing rats. Miners bring in ore> to build ships >that get blown up... its a good cycle since the ore gets used. Ratting and killing NPCs just prints money and resources though which kills the economy.
  8. Taking this a step further, maybe they don’t just “turn off” pvp but instead orgs could build and manage not fleets using their own ship designs that they would have to maintain but would help manage the area. Such as proving resources and keeping invaders at bay
  9. +1 limiting industries on sanctuary moon will not be needed as resources will dry up quickly once people mine their own land. So they will either have to venture out to go mining which is a risk or buy it on the market which takes skill to make a profit and others will still take a risk. As the game has just come out I don’t think we need any rebalancing yet as it will happen naturally.

  11. Power is going to be added to the game later, it’s on the roadmap. Cores are going to provide a set power based on size then power buildings will be needed to cover the rest. Such as reactors or solar.

    Detector is fine as is, just have to learn the Technique then it becomes really easy to find ore deposits, a skill to only scan in your own territory would be a big help though since finding ore then not being able to mine it is a pain.
  13. I would say this would only be worth wile if you could change a range of hex’s all in one area. For example if you one a hex and all the ones surrounding it, because as you mentioned; one person can flatten a hex fairly quickly with max terraforming skills and I myself have almost finished flattening one hex over a few afternoons.

    Industry Hub

    +1 on this, a central hub for managing industrial buildings would be amazing, even if it was divided into just managing your refineries and other buildings separate and added a que function so you could plan on building multiple types of parts from one building but not at the same time
  15. I think the point is that it’s supposed to be finite so that we go out to mine asteroids once they are added and when they add new systems we have a reason to go out and explore them. So you will have to balance making a large central factory on a safe moon vs Building in unsafe pvp zones as well as balance the risks of going out and bringing resources back or buying raw on the market and using your skills in manufacturing to increase their value by making items out of raw ore.

  19. I would just like the ability to link the input and output to the same container. Makes planing difficult when you can only have either/or to your containers. Really wastes space since you need large enough containers at every step of the process instead of just one large container as the input and output.
  20. This sounds like a great idea, reminded me of the space engineers mods that let you turn dirt into very low amounts of ore instead of having nothing to do with it. The mining in DU defiantly feels a bit to static at the moment with no real growth except skills.
