  1. While true I do shudder at the number of people in this thread who re arguing that the exploiters and cheaters had no effect on the game whatsoever. I can only think they are indeed the same people we accuse of exploiting for ill gotten gains or are completely insulated to the clear impact these significant exploits have had on the economics of the game. These impacts are not just on individual items but propagate to affect multiple organisations and alliances of organisations. Personally I am of the viewpoint that the game undergo a full wipe with some level of benefits for those Alpha/Beta players for their time and effort in helping NQ bring the game to the point that it is, allow for the retention of blueprints for dynamic/space/static cores as I agree that the time invested to create these can at times be immense. (Initially I was against full blueprints being kept and only voxel copies however I believe the impact is minimal to keep full blueprints ingame)
  2. I think the benefits for the early players you have listed are quite reasonable and would go a long way to giving veteran players a boost as it would allow them to move away from the safe zone early and rebuild their empires either solo or as a group without too heavily impacting the disparity between new and old players.
  3. As a member of one of the more PvP focused groups back when these things happened it allowed certain groups to accelerate their designs and ability to instantly replace ships with their ill gotten gains whereas groups who were not in a position or chose to not exploit were relegated to actually having to play the game as intended to replace assets. Wiping the slate clean with a server wide wipe is the only way to now fix what should have been fixed when it occurred. If those same groups get ahead and into a similar position as they are now through playing the game and not profiting off bugs and exploits then I commend their ability and would have no complaints.
  4. I can say with certainty I will be back if there is a wipe. I love to see how many quickly dismiss a wipe as being unable to fix the issues of equality given that in x months we would be in the same position. In my opinion the reason a wipe is needed is to clean the slate from the previous exploits and unintended mechanics that have allowed certain parties to gain an unfair advance without these being rectified at the time. The schematic issues are a prime example of a time where some players who happened to be in the right place at the right time or had prior knowledge were able to exploit an error and profit a significant amount as a result. Whilst the exploit was fixed there was no balancing of the funds gained by these players which ended up having a fairly significant impact on several alliances.
  5. I wont speak for any of the other groups but HAVOC have not quit, a few of us do still play from time to time and even had the great fun of a 1v1 vs LEGION (a ship named Legion Drone) yesterday. While I think that yes, Legion having an astounding monopoly on asteroids in PvP is a bad thing and will long term result in both a loss of content for Legion and ourselves I wont blame them as a coalition or as individuals. Demanding a group who have all built friendships and respect as part of a coalition to break up and become enemies for the sake of your enjoyment is a downright stupid thing to demand, I have seen these groups in almost every game I have played that is a sandbox and I don't believe it will go away any time soon. Its a situation that is currently unworkable as it is allowing Legion pilots and the coalition as a whole to significantly catapult their financial backing through resources solidifying their position even if another group steps up, however it is also a situation in which I do not know of any solution that would solve the underlying issue without another group defeating and becoming the new Legion or failing and the status-quo remaining. I do hope that while these things are smoothed out Legion will continue to try and limit the numbers they bring to keep fights from being too one sided. That being said being another EvE-Online refugee I accept anything I take into PvP can and will at some stage be lost so I wont bitch and whine when a few of you pop around the corner and blast me back home.
