  1. Look for the conformation email you got from Xsolla when you subscribed. There's a link in that email to cancel the subscription.
  2. I think a lot of people are looking for Dual Universe to be a lot of different things, and i hope it can be all those things eventually. But it's not all of them yet. Personally what i was looking for was a building game, Minecraft with better graphics. Right now Dual Universe is exactly that, and better then i ever could ever have imagined. Look at how popular Minecraft is, it's a crazy successful game. Having watched this project go from a few pieces of concept art, and a discussion forum, to what it is now. From where i'm sitting things are looking pretty damn good. I really hope to see the game become everything that they envisioned it to be. And it's possible that NQ was a bit too ambitious. But i don't see any evidence that the game isn't on track to be something amazing. As far as i can see, NQ is making the game as fast as they can, it sucks if the game sounded interesting to you, but nothing in it interests you right now. But what was NQ supposed to do differently? Should they have built the game from start to finish in secret, without telling anyone about it, just so people wouldn't have to live with the disappointment of knowing about it, but not being able to play all of it yet? They could have settled for just making Minecraft with better graphics. Or they could have made Eve with better graphics. Either of those would have been a hell of a lot easier. But neither of those would have been half as good as what we have right now, to me at least. /shrug
  3. This reminds me of PVP in Everquest. Where from time to time you would get disconnected from the server in the middle of a fight. But in the heat of the moment, not realize it, and just think you were winning. Then suddenly it dawns on you, why is the other player just running into that wall, and not fighting back, or losing any HP...?? It sucks when it happens when the fight was going your way. But it happens. All i see in that video is a desync. The actual desync probably happened a few minutes earlier, and the moment that the ship vanished is when the servers caught up. But to accuse someone of cheating just because the server choked, and it happened to benefit them, is a bit over the top. Accusing NQ of cheating on behalf of a player, with no evidence, is just silly.
  4. I think what they're saying is that IF we had the ability to adjust the position of, and rotate elements with more precision, then we wouldn't need the canopy glass triangles to "snap together". Right now when you hold CTRL elements can be moved in larger increments. What we really need is another modifier key, that allows you to move and rotate them in much smaller increments also. Having elements snap together is nice. But i think to most builders, that's a far less important feature then the ability to position them with precision. The square glass panels we have now are already insanely frustrating to get into position. So if it's just a matter of snapping together easily, i say let us have the triangles, we can handle a little frustration. ? I'm super excited to hear more about this either way though, so please do tell us more when you can. In general i would love to hear more about all the problems. Understanding why we can't have stuff makes it SOOOO much easier to accept. The biggest one for me would be the "voxel vector editor", why is NQ hesitant to implement it?
  5. When you have to leave your house every day to go to work. Not leaving your house for two days is the coolest of plans. ?
  6. "Space Trade Empire" is probably a one (sad) person org. And they'll probably just make a new org with a new name once word gets around. But it's definitely a good idea to spread the word about the scam itself. Someone should park a construct next to their dispenser with a sign saying "THIS IS A SCAM". We may not be able to blow them up, but we can still fight back. I'm fine with the whole "All's fair in love and war" thing. But the fact is, this is a game, and when the first thing that happens to you in a game, is getting scammed, it's not a great first impression. At the same time, what is Quanta even for? lol
  7. In the OP you said "using Combat will eliminate all these issues" I honestly don't understand how substituting one word that means one thing, for another word that means something else entirely will be helpful in any way. Combat is one of the ways that players can compete against each other. PVP means players competing against other players. As opposed to players competing against the game. A crossword puzzle is a game. But not PVP. Baseball is a game, and also usually PVP. Fortnite is a game that features combat-PVP. I think, never actually played it. Dual Universe is a game that features things like building, crafting, progression, exploration, and combat. And all of those things can be done in competition with other players. AKA PVP. Sometimes Combat = PVP PVP doesn't always = Combat When we're talking about balancing the game, i think it would be helpful to stop saying "PVP" when we specifically mean "PVP-Combat". But sometimes when combat happens in the game, it isn't just PVP-combat, sometimes it's also about trade, or exploration, or Org diplomacy. So why just call it combat?
  8. Ok well then what are we calling the thing that was avoided, in that scenario? If we're not calling it combat anymore. That needs a name too. I would like to suggest "Big boy boom boom time"
  9. Every once in a while this happens to me. Even before the last update. As soon as i get into the game gpu fans go full speed, but it usually stops after a minute or two and everything goes back to normal. It seems to happen after i clear the cache, or maybe after an update, but not every time, just once in a while.
  10. that's just what the game looks like. That entire planet is editable, and part of a huge solar system shared with thousands of players, where you can travel to any location without a loading screen. Some sacrifices had to be made. And i promise, you wouldn't want to meet those trees when they did have collision. Many ships were lost ? 200kph is pretty slow. With some modifications the speeder can go a lot faster. Build stuff. Literally anything you can imagine. Each of the Alioth Starting Districts has it's own shuttle that will take you to a different Marketplace on the sanctuary moon. The districts are all located inside the starting area, the big circle of purple hexes that's centered around the Arcship. Each one should be marked on the map with an Icon. If you enter Build Mode on your speeder, and right click the seat, you can change the control scheme to Direct Mouse Control, or a Virtual Joystick style mouse control. I don't think HOTAS is supported yet, but it is possible with custom LUA
  11. And your goal in catching your enemy by surprise would be to, avoid combat.
  12. I think it was PVP players that made the push for this separation in the first place. Not in DU but in a hundred other games. PVP combat is different then PVE combat, and it needs to be balanced differently. So people started thinking of it separately. Which was a good thing for PVP in most games that i've played. It seems like the division that you're talking about here is between players who are interested in PVP combat, and players who are not. I don't think calling PVP something else is going to change that. But also, why change it? People having different interests is what the game is all about.
  13. Well this explains why my speeder seems to randomly go a few hundred km/h faster sometimes. Good to know i'm not crazy. ?
  14. Try to queue up some scanner and detector talents as soon as possible, if you haven't already. it will make things a lot easier. Increasing the range of the scanner is probably the most important overall. But increasing how often the scanner pings, and increasing the range of the directional detector really made it a lot less frustrating for me. When you're stuck try digging a short tunnel in all four directions, north, south, east, west. See which one gives you a dip in the graph. If none of them gives you a decent dip, pick the one that gives you the slightest decline, and then dig two more tunnels in that same general direction, one going up and one going down at 45 degrees, and see if either of those gives you a dip in the graph.
  15. Seems like a lot of words just for an excuse to post this... We get it though. If the safe zones were smaller then there would be more seals to club. And this is still page one ?
  16. Do you think they're all just sitting around the office doing nothing all day? They literally have years more work to do on the game. I would love to see them fix everything, but what do you want them to push back in order to work on this instead? What do you think might be more beneficial to the game, Avatar vs Avatar PVP, or 256 voxel L cores? I could make a list that takes up the rest of this page of things i would rather see them working on.
  17. When you are placing the new core with the deploy ground element tool, aim at the first core, or any voxels on it. That will start the new core aligned to the grid of the first core. Before you click to place the new core, you can move the entire build area using the arrow keys and page-up, page-down.
  18. +1 Maybe a modifier key that when held down allows more precise placement and rotation. Basically the opposite of holding CTRL to move things in bigger steps. More precision when placing elements would be really great too!
  19. If you google "The Landmark Forum" there's some pretty sketchy sounding stuff. I think it's a cult or a pyramid scheme or something. Possible connection? Who knows how deep this rabbit hole goes... ?
  20. I think just about everyone wanted and expected wipes. But we should also want and expect them to announce a final wipe, and stick by it if at all possible, right? That happened. The shoe has dropped. Elvis has left the building. Personally i thought they should have waited until they were ready to officially launch the game. But they didn't. C'est la vie. I've been waiting years for a chance to build stuff in this game without it getting wiped a few months later. A lot of people have been waiting a long time. There's just so much more to do in this game then just measuring your progress against other people. That isn't everyone's number one priority. And luckily i think NQ understands that. The idea that everything will be claimed and mined in a few months is just a non-issue. We only have one starting system right now, they're going to add more, hopefully a lot more. On the subject of balance i definitely agree it's too easy now. Although i don't think the solution is as simple as everyone would like. Do they tune the game to the players who chew through it the fastest? Or tune it to the players who take it slow? or maybe meet in the middle? No matter what they do two out of three groups are pissed.
  21. It's only a walking simulator if you don't have a ship. Open the map with M, in the top left click the "Constructs" tab. Any ships (dynamic constructs) or bases (static constructs) that you own will be on that list. If your speeder was deployed, then it should be on the list. If it is, you can select it and "set destination" which will place a marker on your map and compass. If it's not on the list, it also might have been automatically compactified and placed in your inventory, which is supposed to happen if you leave it parked at a market for too long. If it was then there will be a new Blueprint in your inventory, it will look the same as the one you used to deploy the speeder, but if you right click it and inspect, it will say "No ingredients needed" while the regular speeder Blueprint will have a list of required ingredients. If you do have a second "compactified" blueprint, you deploy it the same way you deployed the speeder the first time, but it doesn't require anything. I would also do all the tutorials before you leave the starting area. You get Quanta(money) and talent points as a reward. You can spend the talent points right away, but it's also a good idea to Queue up a bunch of talents too, because you gain talent points much faster when they are going towards queued talent, rather then just accumulating. With the Quanta rewards from the tutorials, plus 100k that you get each day you log in, you can probably buy all the parts to create a new speeder if you can't find the other one.
  22. So the other factor is the strength of your space engines. As you load on more weight, they become less effective too. So you need enough space brakes to slow your descent, and also strong enough space engines that they are able to keep you moving forward even while you're holding down the brakes. As you enter the atmosphere space engines start to become less effective too. That's when i'm usually at full throttle and brakes, and angled slightly upwards. If things aren't going well and the trajectory line is dropping, as soon as you enter the atmosphere you need to tilt your nose down to almost match the trajectory line, or your wings/ailerons will stall. It's a little bit scary but you kind of have to swoop downwards to catch some lift, and then pull up slowly. Assuming you have enough wings or ailerons to support the weight of your ship. When you're working on your ship, you can fill the containers with however much weight you want the ship to carry, and the Build Helper will tell you how much force your brakes or engines will produce. If anything is below 1G when your ship is fully loaded, in terms of thrust, brakes or high altitude/low altitude lift, then you definitely need more.
  23. I don't know NQs policy on this. But with some companies requesting a chargeback from your credit card company without a good reason will earn you a permanent ban. Unless you have a valid reason for the chargeback, or you're sure you never want to play again. it's probably better to cancel your subscription through the link in the email.
  24. For re-entry having plenty of space breaks makes it a lot easier too. As long as you have enough space breaks, they will slow your descent, then you can maintain some forward momentum with space engines at the same time. Without needing to calculate trajectories like a rocket scientist. Once i get down to about 100,000km altitude i'm usually going about 3000km/h, riding the brakes, with thrust at 25% and my ship angled slightly upward. Once i get down to about 10,000km i start to increase thrust and tap the brakes on and off to stay around 1000km/h. As i get down to 5000 altitude i want the trajectory line to be almost parallel to Alioth's surface. So you enter the atmosphere moving forwards instead of dropping like a stone. Brakes are another area where talents will help later too. Early on you really have to pile elements all over your ship, but as you gain talents you can start to remove some of them. Or pile on more containers ?
  25. @Underhook Tier 1 scrap is basically only good for repairing speeders. You really need a higher tier scrap to repair anything larger. It sounds like NQ should add something to the tutorials that explains this better though. Is repairing even mentioned in the tutorials, i can't remember? To avoid crashing in the first place, try adding an absurd amount of atmospheric breaks to your ship. They can be placed anywhere, facing any direction. They can't be obstructed by other elements or voxels, so you can stack them anywhere on your ship, even on the inside. This doesn't exactly make sense in terms of physics but the breaks will also slow your ships descent. So with enough of them you can come to a stop up in the air, then just slowly float down to the ground. I would also recommend parking on the ground a little way from the Market platforms, if you're flying a larger ship.
