  1. Also, @NQ, Will previous crowdfunders get stuff like the rez node skin? couldn't find information on that anywhere. And all the other little extras and skins too...
  2. https://www.dualthegame.com/en/pledge So, the new supporter packs are out. What are your thoughts on them? How did they compare to what you guessed would be in them? Personally i though't there would be more DACs, but i love what they have done in relation to different points of access into alpha.
  3. If it's buried in a safezone, no one can do anything to it apart from you and whoever you gave perms to it. In fact, if you do it in a safe zone, there isn't a need for the hole at all.
  4. You can dig a hole. You can place a cargo container, or maybe just an item if that's possible. you can then fill the hole and use the planned terrain voxel smoothing tool, so yes, you can dig a hole and put stuff in.
  5. Its magnetic repulsion This being backed up by what exactly?
  6. @Pleione Problem with 2 and 2b, if you leave 'known space' too soon, everyone else will have arrived at their destination before you are close, due to the advancements made. Also, you cabtbjust go traveling solo straight away, as it could take the large groups around a day to get off planet, let alone a solo playerm
  7. There are no confirmed plans for mining tools as such, as we will be able to mine with just the nanoformer as stated in the lore bible thing, and in the videos. aka, you do an iron man hand at the thing and it be mined. However, we may well see some ship based mining tools in the future.
  8. Yeah, i knew that, but if you include this quote in my answer for clarity the universe returns to normal I think this is a case of a chain of answers all missing the points of the ones before lol
  9. No it wasn't, or if it was, please give the source of this.
  10. Death Triathlon sounds fun to compete in, especially stage 3
  11. That's because the dev version is different to the client pre alpha gets atm for obvious reasons.
  12. Eh, not really making any sense there. If the arkship hit alioth how the lore bible states, hard and fast instead of a slowed landing, the craters gonna be a whole lot bigger than 20km Also no. The 20km zone will be the first thing new players, who NQ want to retain, see. They don't want to see a hundreds of square kilometers of rock and dirt, they want to see stunning visuals on the landscapes. And what issues, exactly? Overall, No, it wont make a 20km crater as that would be bad from a business and gameplay point of view. And also, overall, it never actually states it embeds itself into the lithosphere, or uses any form of lithobraking for that matter. "The Novark arrives on Alioth with a mighty thud as it deploys itself into the planet surface."
  13. Its a current bug. Single star system at release. (don't ask me how its bugged like that it just is) (i have no idea either)
  14. No. If you have enough resources to stop ships getting onto a planet, you have more than enough, especially manpower wise, to control it all with TCU's. Defending from orbit would just mean you had a larger surface area to cover with this 'blanket' defence, and also you have to be constantly expending fuel, plus microing the shit out of your ships to make sure none run out of people completely. Also, ships in space will be harder targets than ships in atmosphere due to higher velocities and also probs distances, and if your defence is on the ground, just shoot out the down thrusters and that's a ship down unless they got a decent pilot, but in space you can shoot out all of one system but they can still use another.
  15. In case you are worried by the concept of a monthly sub, as some people are and complain about very loudly on these forums, it should be known that literally everything else will be free, no paying for DLC or expansions or any of that bullshit. And if you really enjoy this game and play it lots, you could probably see those costs halving or better due to earnign DACs in game by getting enough currency from whatever you are doing.
  16. right, after my first reply, i'm now going to go through and take the time to point out lots about this thread now i have read it all. How? DU is a *multiplayer* game. It has been said that we will have to work together to complete objectives, such as getting off alioth at launch within a week iir. This could be for a completely different reason. Lets find one. I will start with looking at the fact that in HOTS or any other MOBA, People expect to play their own character, not share one. And not picking it could be for a reason such as they are weak because of damage or something, not that its hard to coordinate. How does it take fun away? It might do that for you, but you don't represent everyone. And you only getting a handicap while gaining nothing? You are gaining not only loot from slaughtered enemies due to being able to coordinate with multiple players, and not have to control every aspect of a battleship on your own. Want x guns to target Y systems but only for a certain amount of bursts? You need voice comms for that, and people are the only ones that can respond to voice comms accurately as of now. Gl trying that, plus everything else, in the middle of combat on your own. Again, Your opinion, not everyone's. If you don't want to sit at a cannon, then in order to not be bored anymore, you are limiting yourself to ships one player can fly, e.g. non combat, interceptors, small bombers. And who says It will be as simple as that to fire a gun? There is a reason behind this, and that's to promote teamwork and cooperation, plus meaning that you have to work together if you want to make a large impact in a battle, or DU in general. Also, would you pay a few hundered euros/punds/dollars a month to crew your battleship with bots, not to mention the thousands on rigs for the bots to run on? Or would you prefer to be chatting with friends while not having spent that money? ROFL, remote control is different to automatic targeting. One person equaled one turret then, and it will in DU also. Also, "It would be 100% legit not be allowed to use technology" is literally saying that its ok not to use past tech, but i will assume you couldn't word it correctly so will take it as you saying the system is stupid. Why should the game devs make it your view of 'realistic'? We have no idea what future targeting will be like. Atm on warships it is mainly one person targeting with one gun. If not a team of people targeting with one gun. Who knows if that will change so that one person has the brain capacity to control them all at once in only around 500 years of evolution. Darwin, thats who. It took millions of years for modern humans to progress from slightly dumber intelligent life to current intelligent life. A leap like that wouldnt happen that fast. (Tl;DR of this paragraph: This isnt tech available int the past or present, and for it to be so humans would have to evolve faster than should be possible) (p.s. even if you could evolve the brainpower to manage all systems at once in that time, its still an unevolved you controling it) Put their time into what? how is putting the effort into building a battleship solo, which isnt possible anyways in the time you would probs like, different from putting the effort into getting a crew together to do it? (p.s. You are wrong to put time on this, effort would work better, so i used that) very expensive in that you need to pay your crew, maybe? Overall, what you seem to be saying here is that you would prefer to go alone, but still want to be as strong as people who are working together. If this is true, then maybe DU isn't for you. This game is based on teamwork, and not on everyone being able to run a death star on their own.

  18. As the title suggests, there's no rule specifying we can't, so we can build in teams (e.g. builds representing an org's entry) Right? And if so, will the prize go to a sort of nominated 'leader' for that team, or will the rdms system be up and supporting org owned assets by the end? (That last thing is for if NQ responds)
  19. NQ are french. so tests are based on EU times. Also, yes, wrong section of the forum.
  20. I'm presuming you mean a very small amount, and yeah, that's what NQ wants
  21. IMO most orgs built around worshiping one or a small number of people wont work, simply because they: 1) are unlikely to be organised at all times, so wont be very effective in combat 2) will have so many small and different ideas coming from the bottom of the hierarchy that nothing really gets done and everyone just focuses on small projects that wont affect everyone playing DU 3) excluding high functioning sheeple, the people that make up a youtuber's fan base will probably have other friends that they want to play with that they actually know unlike everyone else from that youtuber's fanbase, and so while their org size will be large, no one will actually be contributing much to any collective projects unless their god is currently streaming. Tl;DR: most youtuber orgs will be too disorganised to do anything useful in the long run
  22. Yeah, i'd have to agree. while it would be nice to have these at release, there's now way of knowing if any of these designs will be liable or live up to your claims about any of them. However its good that you are sort of planning.
