Hi Lockethot,
Having a website on https doesn't mean it is legit.
But you should try to ping @Code_24 ;).

Shadow got a reaction from STEALTH7 in What makes this game stand out?
Don't forget large scale PvP which only EvE provides at the moment.
Jokes aside, DU may launch before Star Citizen too.

Shadow got a reaction from virtuozzo in SUGGESTION to NQ about PACKS
I'm in favor of allowing earlier backers to take a supporter pack, even at full price if needed.
Currently, bronze and silver backers have no option to back the game again without splitting into two accounts. Also, several backers (including myself) have expressed the will to get the few exclusive rewards of the supporter packs (esp. the T-Shirt it seams) and/or further support NQ.

Shadow got a reaction from NanoDot in Sleep/Rest Mechanics
While the idea is interesting, it is too easy to bypass the bonus/malus by just logging another account, and you will never be able to track it.
So it probably means a lot of developments (concepts + implementation) for no real gain.

Shadow got a reaction from GunDeva in In-game voice.
EvE does have voice and allow you to mute people. But still, the use case is so low that they have decided to remove the functionality.
Try to mute all spammers in Jita local, it's a lot easier to just hide the chan ;).

Shadow got a reaction from MookMcMook in EVE Online's $1,000,000 Battle Bust and What it Means for Dual Universe
I've asked JC about what happens to ships when someone disconnects.
There are plans, but nothing written in stone yet (I've highlighted some problems myself ).
Ship may disappear or not depending on situation, but nobody knows for sure at the moment (not even NQ).

No PvE ? What about mining ? It still generates goods "for free" (no redistribution).
Saying that we will see less combat in DU because there is no pirate to kill for a bounty looks a bit anticipated: it greatly depends on ships price too (and I mean, time to extract raw materials, refine them and build the ship, not the currency price).

Shadow got a reaction from Hades in [DevBlog Feedback] Our thoughts on Territory Protection Mechanics
Looking forward for more details and other gameplay features before setting on an opinion.
The idea doesn't look bad so far.
Two questions though:
With ASA (Arkship Secure Area), what allows players to move around if all tiles are claimed ? What about illegal mining / building in controlled territories ? I understood in previous iterations that territory control and RDMS only set permissions and protect structures, but only log and prompt when someone is, for example, mining in your territory. Is this still up to date ? Regards,
Shadow

Shadow reacted to Lethys in What Do You Think Inter-Structure Lua Scripting Can Be Used For?
Probably:
Sending codes for landing Access, opening hangar doors, sending Data to other ships, sharing maps, sharing targets, ... Stuff I certainly can't script.
Luckily we have lua slaves

Shadow got a reaction from ATMLVE in Moon & Asteroid
Hi Marcovitch,
From what we know, we have not heard of falling asteroids. Actually, all planets, moons and asteroids are supposed to be fixed as of now (they are like static constructs: not movable).
Game-play wise, moons are like planets. As neither planets, nor moons orbit, we can't even speak of "moons". But they are small and near a planet. More precise information is probably under NDA.

Shadow.

Shadow reacted to Cronael in Weapon Detector area
This will be useful in several areas.
For my part, imagine we want to build a playground for all, but we do not want some people malicious.
We want to create an area without weapons, and of course with the help of a road with its detectors let pass only people coming for the game.
Of course there will always be guard to monitor the detectors ... according to the systems that will be implemented.
We can imagine other uses, such as transactions and others ...

Shadow reacted to Hotwingz in The Worth of DACs
The only real answer is, nobody knows.
You can calculate all you want but the simple truth is that the cost of DAC will be directly related to the amount of money in circulation.
The price of commodities will be set by supply and demand and the ability of a player to purchase at a given price.
At launch a DAC may cost 100 quanta because a 100 quanta may be a fortune. As the game matures a 100 quanta will become peanuts because of accumulated wealth. As such the price of DAC will increase.
There are a few variables but in general the trend will be that the price of DAC will increase over time.
Nobody can put a figure on it before we have a working economy.

Shadow reacted to Lethys in in-game Pets
Yeah, those are KS exclusives, L1 to 5 for different backer tiers. But they're purely cosmetic and don't do anything
