The bot prices leave plenty of room for player to player trading, BUT without market information players can't (and so don't) place informed buy orders. People need to know what demand(past sales volume) looks like to make an informed entry into the market...

Market statistics are critical to the operation of modern market. At a n minimum the market need periodic (daily?) volume and high, low, and mean prices. This could probably even be player supported if raw sales events were exposed publicly (.XML or something)
