  1. Well, not quite. I use bad language, I like it and it has more impact than being all cuddly, but I don't just insult people for the lulz. The statement you mentioned was concerning an, in my opinion and experience, very stupid prediction. As to discussing ideas I probably won't. Most suggestions are bad or at least not very good (even mine), then they may be implemented poorly so even a good idea can go to shit, and frankly the devs won't care about our input anyways so I think it's a waste of time. I know I sometimes do it because it's fun and we're all terribly convinced of our own ideas, but really it doesn't make much sense. So really all I may do is tell or remind people of some principles, because really that costs me little time and perhaps someone will learn something that will end up leading to a better game because somehow he gets in a position to change something and now he knows some basic principle that will help him come up with better ideas.
  2. For me this never worked on planet, but in space. I'd recommend trying it on a space station, but be careful and have a friend with you because if a bug accidentally flings something away you may have a hard time catching it alone (especially if your station is in the gravity well of a planet). In fact docking to ships oftentimes works so well, you didn't even intend it, like my battleship getting docked to my S ship, even though it is still very far away and all I did was move it out of the way. Always very fun when you realize you have a 500 ton blob in the corner of your build space somehow stuck to you and now you are plummeting towards a planet and are barely maneuverable. One of the reasons I think element destruction is such a great idea!
  3. Oh how angry am I, and what do you know about it? And how is it "a computer game" and not the idiot who called me liar publicly out of his ignorance? And no, fanboy is correct. But what makes you think it's a smart idea to spam a topic with a full quote and nothing but a braindead statement? Don't answer, just keep your immature drivel to yourself next time.
  4. First part shows they know nothing about pvp mmo development. Having to defend your industry bc there is pvp on alioth will just be a total shitshow. Best case everyone retreats to sanc, worst case the game just dies there and only 10 trolls will be left. The second part shows you know nothing either. Scoreboards, red names, ugh yeah go ahead take the most fail ideas ever, which were shit in other games that did them. This is an mmo, in the end people play for resources, that has to be the incentive, nothing else really matters. Fame comes automatically don't worry I know these things. Also your predictions are just pulled out of your *** and are so far off they should never have emerged from that place. I gave you the answer to how to get people interested in pvp, so don't come with crap please. Nothing you ever do will get the casual to engage in pvp, but high rewards leads people to take high risk, fuels an economy where people can reasonably be paid to protect and keep the peace, and others to try get a piece of someone elses cake. Which was the idea of this game in the first place as understood in the past, but who knows, maybe JC comes up with another great iPhone epiphany and now thinks it should be the US vs the Chinese military and everyone else should be limited to xs weapons 'cuz that's like in real life trololo. The one thing you were not all wrong about is cost of ships, which is basically the "lever" for how much pvp there is going to be, and it should be somewhere where you don't just yolo your ships away, but where you're also not too scared to take your shiny toy out to play.
  5. No. Absolutely no comparison. Cyberpunk: PS3 owners and gaming "journalists" whine about it. Everyone else has fun playing it. DU: Most players gave up on it, a few ones hang on hoping for a better future.
  6. To be honest the one and only thing needed is incentives. PVP planets with favorable gravity, atmo and a 5x higher density of rare ores, or the asteroids they talked about. Then you got pvp. If there's any demand for ores left after the last blunder of a patch that is. Then we need to pray they will be able to build a working pvp system, which I have little hope for seeing as they just replaced one broken system (designwise) they built earlier by a broken system (designwise) they built later and the insane number of bugs are still not fixed.
  7. What you fanboys totally miss is the fact the OP pointed out: During lockdowns more people play (online) games. NQ managed to "kill" their game in such a favorable situation, thus proving it was a shit idea they went with. This is a fact that can not be argued. Lots of people voted "this is shit, I won't play it anymore", so stop this god damn cringe fanboying. The patch wasn't thought through at all, it was a terrible idea to do it this way and not even the math was correct, and I find people like you attacking anyone who spells this out cancer.
  8. FU fanboy it is not a lie. The schematic system is broken no matter what you fanboys claim. If my 3d printer could only print a part after I paid 500€ for that 5€ part's schematic I'd throw it in the trash, so much for "like in RL". In the alpha they made it more accessible so people could build had an extra gameplay element. It turned out people liked doing industry a lot and managing and building your factory became a central aspect of DU. This is a fact and no whining from your part can change this. Now this is gone. No, setting up a single line is no fun, no, feeding it 24/7 and praying prices won't drop so I don't make a massive loss is not an option. They should have consulted someone with some game design experience because this machanic is completely broken yet it could have been done so well. And no, industry was never meant to be used to lock yourself into producing one item only. NQ themselves stated industry and market is to build parts that are expensive on the market and switch once they get too cheap. Yep that's not gonna work anymore.
  9. 1. You can build all T1 xs things with your nanocrafter. With that you can learn what you need and how to do it. 2. You can build a properly flyable miniship with speeder parts. If you don't want to learn that I sell such mini planes all parts included at markets 6, 7 and 17 for 50k. 3. Sell some ore to bots. One inventory load is about 100k. If you stay below 20 tons you can use a miniplane, goes about 700 km/h in practice. 4. Buy a larger container. M is great for beginners. With it deployed on your base (on Alioth!) or a ship if you can, you gain some freedom. 5. Use "support" chat for single issue questions or looking for people to help you. People there are very helpful in my experience. 6. Aquire the knowledge to build your own ship, practice with xs then buy parts from market or buy a complete ship from another player. Industry was a huge part of gameplay which is now eliminated, so I be damned if I know what to do with your time once you have some stuff. But frankly everything you describe is easily doable, all you need to fix is your attitude, and ask some people ingame for advice and help, most of them are bored anyways lol
