  1. At the moment, it seems to be impossible to hover on the sea floor. Hovers work only on land and water surfaces. 1 I suggest, that on water surfaces, the lowest hover height would get the ship hovering above the sea floor, while all other hover heights would get the ship hovring above water. 2 Alternatively, hovers could accept all height levels (hover strength) on the water surface. But when put to 0, the ship sinks towards the sea florr but the hover is reset to Medium Strenght but now only focusing on the sea floor. The player can adjust the hover strength again, like on the waterr surface or land. 0 rests the ship on the sea floor, but exceeding maximum makes the ship moivig again aboove water surface and resets the hover to medium strength with focus on the water surface. I favorize the 2nd suggestion as this would give us some more freedom in regards to hover strength and obstacles on the sea floor. Players, what are your suggestions?
  2. Thanks for the LIKE. If you all like this suggestion, please respond. ?
  3. It is nice to follow boh of you, your intellectually expressed exchange of opinions is a pleasure to follow. Good points on both sides.
  4. It is a pleasure to see how the suggestion of a self-detonatin device gets so many responses, indeed not all against it, and even motivates more plyers to develop their own cncepts about devices for self-detonation. Thanks for your input, Warlander. And I encourage all others of you players to come up here with your own ideas of the interesting self-destruction device. Let's make DU more interesting, let's add new possibilities to it! Don't be afraid of the PVP lobby. ?
  5. We are not talking about chaning the game, but about enhancing it, so man more player types will like it. This now might be something YOU don't seem to understand. Look, DU has at the moment 4,000 players worldwide. Many more players would be beneficial. So why to cut out all the other player typs just for the sake of those who do like destruction but not game enhancements?
  6. The video in the URL is not my video, but some of the points he is making might be true. I would like some civilization and environmental aspects in this game. But I am also saying, that DU sets new industrial standards if it comes to terrain interaction and design of constructs. Please watch this video before continuing to read. Here is the URL: I am also suggestion to open a new Upload Page that allows for uploads of 3D models of alien life as Suggestions (plants and animals). Your own 3D designers could then create life forms roughly based on these player-submitted suggestive models. And I would like the idea of a few Ancient Alien Civilization Sites or Ancient Alien Fossil Sites - areas that cannot be claimed, but players can travel to those sites and start researching. There shoulkd be ten thousands of different research inventions, so a good number of players then own something only they can construct or do (incl. genetic modifications to the own body) Game characters need a Security Rating. It is the level of that security rating, that determines what kind of research or research findings that character can make. Some of the ancient sites are hold by the Peace Liga, some others by the Unrulies, and some sites cn be accessed by both or non-aligned members. The security rating determines which faction that player can join if (s)he wishes to do so, with all advantages and disadvantages an alignment comes with. The security rating is influenced by how many times a player attacks another ship without being attacked first from that ship. Like PVP space is very dangrous for unarmed gamers/ships, there should now also be a vast area (or even entire solar systems) that are held by the Peace Liga and their Police ships (not player-owned as members do not have the best weapon technology) driving out everyone who is not a member of the Peace Liga. This territory contains vast geological treasures, too, as the PVP space does. Destroyed non-Liga ships, however, can be looted by Liga members. The purpose of all that is to create a situation where each side, and the people in between, need each other. Not all researched elements or other things can be used by a player not being a member of that same faction. The members of the Peace Liga have access ot a wide range of new, very beautiful but less robust honeycomb types and decorative elements, while Unruly members have a better access to less beautiful but more robust new honeycombs and elements.. Unaligned gamers have access to both but lack the protection and risk-free access to all areas within the territory of either faction. Civilization Building I can imagine that there is a city for each of the three factions, each different in the way they look, but each with hundreds of roads and a few dozens of places ad plazas. The entire city would be NQ-created, may it be n a mountain peak or side, or in the flatlands. Each building has apartments beginning from the 2nd floor, and shops in the 1st floor (ground). Only once a player has some sorts of achievements, citizenship to the city of the own faction is offered. Depending on the kind of achievement, the offred apartment is smaller or larger. With the then permanent ownership of the apartment comes automatically ownership of a shop (ground floor of the same building). These cities expand with the amount of citizens. The citizen can paint the inside walls, and also add all sorts of faction-available or existing general decorative elements..Some elements can be added to the outside, too. Only a tiny daily quota of non-faction members can visit such a city. A non-faction member must have made achievments for the faction whose city (s)he wishes to visit. Some achievement last for only one visit, others allow a permanent licence and make that visitor to an acknowledged trade traveller (but only a fixed number of such traders is permitted on a monthly base). This way we dvelop trade connections and dependencies between factions and players. Civilization. If a city citizen invites a member of another faction for a house visit, it is possible only if that visitor has some minimum achievements for the citizen*s faction, and the visitor won't be able to enter any shop or collect anything in any way. Citizens can donate money with an aim: a new park (park size selectable, and the donors can add plants or decorations for a park area depending on their donation size), a new sporting area, statues, ponds and lakes, and so on. If it comes to the discovery of new solar systems, the members of the two opposite factions can donate money to their faction's bidding on the ownership of that new system. If the faction wins, half of the money is returned, and the space outside the safe zone will be owned by them, allowing PVP ships or automated police ships inside. The faction of the unaligned will always have a risky access to that space outside the safe zone. The unaligned always dominate in the safe zone, while members of the two other factions have acces to it, too, but with a few limitations NQ has to develop. Maybe unaligned get the best trade taxations. If destruction is allowed on some planets in the future, there should be each week 3x a randomly selected hour where no destrution is possible. During that hour the time of the next such hour is announced. Only during those hours, everyone can briefly visit those planets. Within each faction, orgs of course still exist. And of course, each player cn build and keep his or her bases even when being a cisitzen of the faction city.
  7. I think, like in real life, any interaction between two persons shouzld be based on the agreement of both (or all) involved persons. But at least, if violence gets awarded (as in so many games), then I would want that the opposite should also have some sorts of aards, maybe some areas that cannot be accessed by players that have a security rating below a certain threshold, or some ore or some elements or some research that is possible only for high security level players. As I said, peacefulness should get awarded, too, not only vilent behavior. But that is stuff for another thread. Here in this thread, I still continue to express my wish for a detonation device.
  8. Like in almost all computer games, violence pays. Do PVP, and you have access to more or better resources, loo, etc.. I suggest that there would be a counter for each player, how many times a player has attacked without having been attacked first an other ship or base (not defended). And then there are benefits that are open only to game characters below certain violence thresholds, that violent players (PVP players) cannot get. This would give more balance, and also be a price for players who are peaceful members of the DU society. Why always give benefits only to those who are destructive. More balance and rewards for different ways of gameplay are needed. May those benefits be some new ore types, or special elements that function only for those players, or the ability to research or find something, or access to exclusive and beneficial areas that are off-limits (police?) to PVP players. I leave that up to NQ. If you have ideas, please add them to this thread.
  9. For my part, I like and welcome the mining units. Just the territory tax is way too high, especially for territories that do not have much ore value. Tax should be based on ore value.
  10. No, I do not wish to become a PVP player. I leave violence to others, and don't want to become like them. Self-destruction had great balancing effects in EVE. But I understand, that the PVP lobby does not like at all the idea of more balance... ? ? ?
  11. Here is a suggestion that can - to some extend - substitute for the Transparent Glass Honeycombs: The existing Glass Panels should be able to merge with each other. Means, you can place them now without them blocking each other, so they can go into each other and would do that seamlessly, means, without visible edges. This way, we gamers an build a flat transparent glass wall that can have almost any shape. And when placed following a curve (see picture below, top of the cockpit), they also would close gaps seamlessly. The total weight of those glass walls is not calculated by amount and size of individual panels, but from the shape and volume of the glass wall (less than all panel weight as merged areas compute only 1x).
  12. I thought, 1 million quanta a month, and I was feeling strain on me. But now reading that it is four times more (!!!) as the tax is paid weekly and not monthly, i do not know how to generate so much money ingame. My focus is to fly around and interact, mining is not so much something i do so aggressively. And especially new players will find it hard, too, to make so much money. Unless the start-up territories on the Sanctuary Moon have a significantly better ore output than now. hen new players won't struggle. Remember, there is no "average player", so many of us who are not loud and are known to you, are playing on a lower level, nott mining aggressively or in big groups. Also, if all of us palyers have to start mining aggressively, won' this cause that ttoo much ore is given to the markets and prices will fall, thus making it harder to earn the quanttas needed to pay the insane territory tax? Finally, I remind you for one of my previous suggestions in which I described a tax that is oriented on the ore output value of a territory. hat is how it should be. I urge you to reconsider.
  13. My concern is this: Demeter is coming, and all underground caves will be filled up. Over the last full year, I spent hours, days, weeks, months to create thishuge underground cave, as that is whee I want to build L-Core ships and run all my factories. I just finished a mega node on anotther planet and came back to my future underground base, with the intention to place a number of L-Core static constructs in it so NQ can excavate (restore) my cave after Demeter. But just after my arrival, the Nvidia-NQ problem happened, and now I am very afraid to lose my work of one full year if there is not enough time to create all these underground constructs, or if Demeter happens before we can login again. And I also claimed and paid a number of territories witth mega nodes, I need to harvest them before Demetter reshuffles all ore These are my main concerns.
  14. I could imagine that those special asteroids are staying and do not disappear. hey can however, move through the solar system, and maybe one day even between solar systems. I would use such an asteroid to build a nice beautiful residence and stay there if I feel for a hideout or vacation. If such an asteroid has ore, I would mine it, maybe. But I can imagine, oo, to search it for artifacts or even fossils of ancient alien life, and then to research on whatever I have found. The tombola/lottery would allow each player to have a chance to win such an asteroid, so it is not just for PVP players only. These special asteroids must not allow more than 1 or 2 ships to be inside their safe zone, to ensure no one can use them as totally protected PVP ship base. The owner can build/buy a defence force field and install it on that asteroid, from that moment on all other ships cannot land anymore on that asteroid. Would be nice if we could plant flowers, trees, bushes, herbs, etc. on designated areas or on "field" elements after an "atmosphere holding"" field generator has been insttalled. A further option is a gravity generator which the player can set to any gravity (s)he wants, up to maybe 5G.
  15. Sure, your wish shall be my command. ? https://upvote.dualuniverse.game/suggestions/132575/add-hollow-voxel-shapes and a little bit https://upvote.dualuniverse.game/suggestions/144845/flattener-tool-variable-height-smooth-walls
  16. So, what will happen if I overheat my toilet?
  17. What I think? I am not much a friend of element limitations, those would make ships looking basic. Hell, nooo! So I leave it up to others to put limitations on their own creativity...
  18. Identical to some long-time suggestions I made, yet of course needed. I support this suggestion, and ask the NQ staff to my own suggestions I made inside the Suggestion Upvote Forum many months ago for some more details on that.
  19. I can imagine a tombola where the winners get the warp mark for an asteroid inside the PVP area that however has an own Safe Zone. Only that player can claim that asteroid, using a territory claiming device like on any of the planets. I intentionally leave itt up to each of you to add more flesh o my suggestion, like - participation conditions for that tombola - total amount of such asteroids - size of asteroid - ore on that asteroid - limits on ship amount allowed in that safe zone to avoid misuse as safe fleet base - limits of weapons for the same purpose as above - possible usages for these asteroids (research of rare technologies or distant solar systems, or simply as special residence, etc.) So, folks, come up with your ideas! Looking forward to see them!
  20. Those who cannot login still need time to make all preparations for the Demeter update. We need to finish harvestting the mega nodes we are holding, and to prepare our underground construxts the way NQ said we should (for NQ-GM excavation later on). Please, NQ, make sure we who canno login have still time enough.
  21. Old idea, this idea was posted months ago. Still a good one.
  22. Self-destruction devices are successful parts of many other great SciFi games, like Eve Online. They make it a bit harder for PVP fans, and I hink, a number of PVP fans do not really belong into PVP space based on their big tears that their vicims can hurt them back a litle bit. ?
  23. The upcoming new brake rules will cause some really good-looking ships to look bad or crash bad. Not happy about that particular change. As long as only NEW ship constructions will have to follow those new upcoming rules, it is okay. But PLEASE do no apply those rules to ships concepted and designed, built before these new rules become valid.
