Hope NQ lets us submit ships we created for consideration to be placed into the pool for salvage. That would be really cool and give the community further engagement.

Honestly do not understand why this matters when it will not be the last time. Do not get me wrong I have more work to fix factories than I care to disclose due to this and there is no stacking advantages you're getting on static construct outside additional lag.

We have been here so many times I lost count.

The game changes and our ship designs are no longer viable, and everything needs to be re-worked. I cannot tell you how many PvP ships I have built to have them no longer even be useable. hundreds of hours lost and hundreds more to lose with this unless you want to not build. Never was anything done outside the rules.  I just deal with it and hope they get to a point where this is no longer a common occurrence.

We already know of a number of events like this that maybe coming and the PvP focused folks want another adjustment to add more to this list.

Endstar reacted to Yoarii in The forgotten LUA API for dispensers
    Dear NQ,

We in SVEA run an element shop, recently featured in The Helios Bulletin. We've developed a system to centrally update the screens for each of the 600+ dispensers so that our customers can see the price and batch size without having to click on the dispenser, in addition to making the shopping experience nicer.

Although updating all screens centrally saves a lot of time, the dispensers still needs to be manually updated with price (and batch size if that is to be changed). We did get a nice update to the UI for the dispensers a while back but that only helps with the initial setup, not the long-term management of the only way a "player market" can be created in the game right now.

Can we please have a word on when a LUA API for dispensers will be a thing?

These are the most important API functionalities the dispensers are missing:

SetPrice(price) - sets the price. GetPrice() - Returns the currently set price
These are extras I thought would be nice to have
Activate() - Disables purchases from a container without having to go through the RDMS system, much like the VR Pod station needs to be activated via RMB. Deactivate() - Opposite of Activate(), obviously GetContainerId() - returns the ID of the connected container, or 0 if not yet connected. HasBatchContents() - returns true if the dispenser has any configured batch contents. BatchesAvailable() - returns the number of batches available in the connected container.
At first I thought that a function like SetBatchSize() would be good, but instead of that, lets change the dispenser such that the buyer can enter the number of batches they want to buy (up to whatever total the seller has configured)

You already know that there are other similar shops out there and while I don't speak for them, I think they too would appreciate the above proposed improvements.

I would not mind a long range radar that gives basic info like there is a ship in that direction. It does not even need to give me extract distance just about X su. Nothing more. Something that offers a little go this way if you want an encounter without identification capabilities.

I think staggering is a great idea. The below is not.

    • For players who haven’t set any headquarters, five headquarters have been automatically assigned based on the highest number of static constructs on the territory.

There are inactive players owning key tiles preventing the expansion of huge community projects. These types of projects are what we were told is part of why we are here in DU.  Not following why protecting inactive player hexes anywhere outside Sanctuary Moon is a good idea. We have always been told the only fully safe location is Sanctuary Moon.

Please NQ - give us a means to remove or claim inactive player hexes. There are key locations preventing 100's of current players from expanding the building projects they are doing together due to players who left the game weeks into Beta.

We have asked NQ to consider this:

Release with a new system. All new accounts will only spawn in that system.

All existing accounts are stuck in Heilous until a stargate is crafted. Make the craft time long like in the 90-180 day area.

This gives new players a clean start without veteran interference. It gives existing players an option without a wipe where they cannot snowball over new players. By the time the stargate is crafted enough time has taken place to allow new players to grow without interference.

Lastly it will add subs for NQ as some of you will not wait you will just sub a new toon to see and start in that system until the gate is open.

Sort of a middle ground between wiping and not wiping.

If you haven’t already, we highly recommend that you read the Territory Upkeep devblog before reading this. It’s okay. We’ll wait.

    ……….

    ….. =^-^= …..

Back? Cool! Now we want to tell you about what’s going to happen next.

In the devblog, we wrote that “the first tax payments will be subtracted from the territories two weeks after the Demeter release date. Once the update is live, we will announce the exact date and time the first tax cycle will begin.”

This is that announcement: the first tax cycle will begin on December 7th at 09:45 UTC.

If you have claimed your territory, designated your headquarters, and primed your wallet with enough quanta to cover the taxes (1 million per week per territory), you’re all set and don’t need to do anything further to prepare. Still, you may want to continue reading in case you’d like to know how to benefit from situations where territories have unpaid taxes.

    ABANDONED TERRITORIES

Territory owners have a two-week “offline territory” grace period to pay. They still own the territory and the constructs on it, but any mining units or industry on the territory will be forced offline, only returning to service if the taxes are paid.

When two weeks of unpaid taxes pass, the territory enters an abandoned state and becomes available for another player to claim. Once a territory is abandoned and claimed by a new owner, it’s for keeps. The previous owner can’t swoop in, drop some quanta and take it back.

    REQUISITIONING CONSTRUCTS

If there are static constructs on the territory, their ownership does not immediately convey with the territory to the new owner. Rather, the new territory owner must requisition ownership from the previous owner via the construct context menu. The previous owner then has two weeks to retrieve the construct content by disassembling and removing them. If the original owner does not retrieve the constructs by the due date, the new owner can take ownership of them by confirming the requisition.

As much as we know some players would enjoy Fireflying around salvaging construct content from abandoned territories, it’s not possible without claiming the territory first. This can only be done by the new owner of the territory.

    THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS

Here are the important dates to remember:
First territory taxes are due for pre-Demeter claimed territories: December 7th at 09:45 UTC Unpaid taxes result in industries and mining units going offline on pre-Demeter claimed territories: December 7th at 09:45 UTC The first requisitions will potentially go through on December 7th at 16:00 UTC.  Pre-Demeter claimed abandoned territories are up for grabs: December 21st at 09:45 UTC Potentially, you can lose ownership of the static constructs that were deployed on YOUR territory that you owned pre-Demeter starting from January 4th Post-Demeter claimed abandoned territories are up for grabs: December 10th at 16:00 UTC
Dates for when new owners may requisition for ownership of abandoned constructs and when ownership will transfer will vary depending on when the requisition is submitted. But since the requisition takes two weeks, you cannot lose the ownership of your static constructs before December 7th, 16:00 UTC . And if the construct is still on territory claimed before Demeter, it cannot be lost before January 4th at 09:45 UTC.

    READY, SET, GO!

If you’ve had your eye on an abandoned parcel of profitability potential, it could soon be yours. Save the date and ready your fastest ship to make sure you get there first to claim the prize.
