  1. People who are concerned about the resources in this game have no concept of the sheer scale of this game. We could all be mining 24/7 for the next year and we still wouldn't be close to mining everything out. Asking what you do in DU when resources run out is like asking what to do in Elite Dangerous when the galaxy is fully explored.
  2. Yeah Intel is plugging it for their 8 cores - https://software.intel.com/content/www/us/en/develop/blogs/intel-core-i9-processors-reduce-open-world-load-times.html So ok - fine it scales to 8 - but at a certain point it clearly won't matter - and I am under the assumption that anything beyond 16 cores for DU will be pointless - but was hoping someone out there with an overkill build could confirm.
  3. Is the game able to actually scale to 24+ cores? 32? How dumb of a CPU do I need to fling at this game to make it stop being the bottle neck.
  4. No. Because you can't unclaim sanctuary tiles. Else you could generate infinite claims for sanctuary.
  5. NQ-Whatever isn't an in game player. GMs etc having weird GM only things isn't new. You can go back to Everquest days, GMs had their own zone that basically was a hangout spot. Anarchy Online also had GM zones. I dunno about other games but I assume so - nevermind GM gear that essentially made them invulnerable. I did volunteered as an Anarchy 'Guide' back in the day and my Guide char had godlike gear that no player could ever get. Was that a problem? No...because only my GUIDE char had it. NQ-Whatever doing funky stuff is fine. Now if an NQ employee made a char and gave that char 37 districts and didn't have an NQ tag - yeah ok I'd grab my trusty -------E Cause that's abuse of power and is the same shit that happened in EVE with dev favoritism.... If you want to be upset about stuff NQ does - go be upset about NQ teleporting ships back to players after they were lost in PvP. An NQ tagged char having 37 zones isn't an issue or misuse of power.
  6. So it doesn't actually affect you except for your weird sense of head canon of what should and shouldn't be possible. Man it's going to blow your mind when entire planets show up....complete with markets and everything....
  7. Sooo? I don't understand how this affects you. I don't care if if the dev claims 100 tiles and builds a giant statue of themselves complete with a 30ft dong as a testement to their alpha male status.
  8. Most newbies mess up by living too far from the market on sanctuary or by mining out their tile, losing their ships and feeling like they are now 'stranded'. Really best way out of that is to join an org that is willing to uber you to their base - of course if you are trying to do it all alone it's not an option.....but hey if you wanted to play hard mode - play hard mode.
  9. The absurdity is in that if Devs wanted to be sneaky and doing scary bad things they'd be doing it with non NQ-Name alts. Complaining about NQ-Whatever owning something is pretty absurd. Oh no - a dev holds 37 territories! I saw those territories yesterday long before this post and couldn't possibly care less. I'd be concerned if a player had them - but devs, in a beta? Who cares....well I suppose apparently I know "who" cares - the OP - but it's pretty silly...
  10. Yes. But from my perspective that's entirely expected right now given the optional and pointless nature of pvp areas. Realistically years from now as the game is fleshed out and the concept of territory control becomes an actual thing instead of a 'vision' - then yeah the pvp guild may actually have a reason to exist and do stuff. Regardless of how you feel about PvP, you have to understand that it MUST exist and it MUST be active in this game for the game to survive. PvP is pretty much the only resource sink in the game. Without it, everything you produce is worthless as everyone gets fat and bloated on resources and ships that they don't lose.
  11. I don't disagree that at this stage removing safe zones is a bad move. The borg cube meta needs to die. The hit chance needs to start working based on ship size. Damage toned way down and so on. PvP right now is at best in a proof of concept stage rather than an actual well defined game mechanic. Which is why the type of posts saying that it needs to be fixed 'NOW' or the game is dead are absurd.
  12. So you get it - don't fly your hauler without a radar into a pvp zone. You don't even need to go there - and if you do - do it EVE style - you know with a scout or combat support. PvP needs lots and lots of balancing work - but even currently it's entirely optional and avoidable. So the posts asking for more and more and more safe zones and so forth make no sense to me.
  13. Wow that's a lot of pure sodium - are you selling any of it by chance? Weird to think that if you fly a hauler into a pvp zone that it gets killed. I just can't believe it! Have you considered perhaps not flying a loot pinata into a pvp zone?
  14. Ensure that you are not linked to any containers
  15. Wow do you think you could blow this out of proportion any further? Nerfed out of existence....yup. Yes this was such an absurd post that I actually responded for the first time ever on this forum to it....geeez
