  1. With my voice I don't even need to growl that much
  2. Grappling hooks and gliders would be amazing as well. Especially early game.
  3. Probably a mix of both hand picked and random selection.
  4. Outsourcing game design is a very slippery slope. Now if someone creates something such as a market analyser and the dev want to implement it into the game and get help from the developer of said analyser that's different. As for a character designer it really depends on if you are actually going to see you charicter if not then why bother? Though a detailed character designer such as eve or fallout 4 would be nice to have. And indeed sir/madam you did. That quote comes from the Q&A.
  5. They do plan on adding animals its more of a question of when definitely before release though. Check it out here 7th paragraph down. At this stage, it is not clear if we will have enough time until the alpha to implement NPC animals to come and bother you during the night, as well as serve as hunting preys. But that’s the idea, because you will need to feed yourself, and the nanoformer cannot make wood-based lunch for you!
  6. is that any thing like big ball of wibbly wobbly time-y wimey stuff (10 brownie points to anyone that gets it lol)
  7. Probably not going to happen. At least not anytime soon if at all unfortunately, but i do understand where they are coming from. It would require to make a 3D modeling tool inside Dual Universe to enable players to customize their gear and it would represent a tremendous amount of development time. Moreover, the dev team prefers to keep some control on the artistic vision for the game. Found this in the Q&A #13. Link here
  8. As far as i can tell the only thing that is the same is they both have procedural generation. Past that not much else.
  9. we would delegate the “censorship” job to the players themselves. (quote can be found here in the q&a #19 2) From the sounds of it they are going to take more of a hands off approach and let the game evolve organically.
  10. There has been a decision on the censorship of constructs if you are interested you can see it here.
  11. I wouldn't mind. I try not to cuss in my videos but I often fail pretty hard lol so I don't think it would be a problem. From what I hear though my voice is pretty amazing.
  12. As true as this is sometimes third-party developers just happen to do it better. Eve tried to emulate evemon (a third-party skill planning tool with TONS of features) and failed horribly. Other times these tools just would not work well in game. This is why I am hoping for some sort of API support for third-party tools.
  13. I know i am going to record everything! I even got a couple of extra ssd for my nas. Gonna try to post the really good stuff to youtube.
  14. Life? What's a life? All i know of is DU!
  15. Depends if they have an associated cost with them. If so no they will remain private. But i could be wrong.

There will always be spy and as we said in eve "Everyone is a spy" and if you deny being a spy then you are a spy.
  17. That is exactly what cyber warfare is about, And that is a really good point drones would be the most susceptible to such attacks. As far as what single shard means is that everyone plays in the same universe at the same time with no instances or relms. Kinda how Eve online does it. It will take clusters of servers to run the game. If one of those clusters happens to get overloaded then it starts to pass on information to another cluster to avoid lag.
  18. @Tychus Sorry should have clarified my statement and said everyone in the post at that moment in time. I also apologize for the anger put forth in the post. I assure you I am not the type of person who enjoys such vulgarity either. I believe this is most of the time the act of children in desperate need of discipline and attention but receives neither. Yet the absurdity of forcing all to such subrogation of a review process for their designs (many of which have spent hours developing) to please the few who find such things so offensive when they simply have to ignore and carry on is offensive on its own. From my experience, these types of thing are the occasional oddity instead of the norm. Now if it does become a problem where it begins to be the opposite then I believe we may need to revisit the topic and have the issue dealt with.
  19. There is something in eve quite similar. Jump bridges. How they worked was every time someone used one it cost some fuel. We would set up a bunch of them to and create a network around a region to get around fast (skipping up to 5 systems at a time). They would be used amongst the alliance and sometimes with "blues" or friends of the alliance, but they were NEVER public.
  20. Yeah really why i dropped off the hype train for many games. Lack of stability and then lack of compelling content. But from the sounds of it, they have one of those down already
  21. Really good point. All though this does make sense 99% of what everyone is talking about is just speculation for now wish we had more info on all the aspects of the game. That my friend is when the real discussions start to happen.
  22. Even then it might cause some lag to the server if too many are doing this? even just 100 planets each with their own small network of even just 6 satellites (1 in polar orbit 1 in sun-synchronous and 4 in geosynchronous orbit) and that's 600 lag machines essentially.
  23. Tha brings up a good question orbiting be something that you need to do? or even want to do? I know the planets and other celestial bodies are going to be static so it doesn't kill the server but how about creating a satellite array actually orbiting the planet?
