  1. EDIT: This is NOT and assumption merely an observation of data that has been collected from the information provided to us. I do NOT claim any of this to be fact nor that this will happen. So i read the newest AMA answer and got kinda worried. (you can read it here it is #25). This may be a problem if the starting planet only has a radius of 30KM (referenced here if you want to read more). So based on the photos we have seen so far (this is a very ruff estimate) I would say the planets are about 60% water (give or take). With this in mind I did some maths and came to the conclusion we will only have around 1800KM of land to build on. (around 11300km water included). The current member count on the forum alone (at this time) is almost 1500. There is not going to be anywhere close to enough land! I don't know about the rest of you but from my experience trying to mine underwater is a HUGE pain in the arse. So is trying to build in the middle of the ocean, especially if structural integrity is going to be a thing. If we are going to have more than a few thousand people playing the game we are going to need MUCH more land! Edit: Looks like planets are going to be much larger than originally thought. How big is the Dual Universe? Planets may range from a few hundred to thousands of kilometer in radius

  6. Unfortunately yes, this is mostly due to the fact we are having to answer the exact same questions over and over again and it is irritating at best. This is why Cybrex created this post so we could avoid having to do so, but from the looks of it people do not want answers they want to fight and argue.
  7. Unfortunately you are a bit late for the proper responses and counter points. At this time we have already done this on all the topics listed at least 5 or 6 times each. This is why you were linked to the post by Cybrex. All the quotes in that post are official from the developers all you need to do is just read what you care about and if you want more info on the subject then click the link. There are no short answers. so yes you will have to consume alot of info.

Beware of the afk cloaker And what Nyzaltar had to say: We plan stealth technology in Dual Universe (even if it's not planned soon). Afk cloaking is indeed a problem in EVE. Psychological warfare is interesting, as long as it involves activity from the player wanting to do it. From what we have analyzed, afk cloaking has been possible because of a few things: - the fact that all players in the solar system are displayed on the local chat. If you see someone you don't know, it migh be a spy, or someone planning an ambush. - the fact that a player can leave from a safe area (space stations) from a unique point (easy to ambush). - the fact that a player wanting to leave the solar system generally needs to use a stargate (also an easy place to ambush). As Dual Universe won't work "solar system by solar system" and there won't be only one point of entry/exit for a safe area, this kind of abuse should have a lot less impact in Dual Universe. And if it still does... well, we keep your suggestions in our papers as possible ways to handle it Thanks for the feedback!
  9. So I'm pretty sure I have read about this somewhere, just can't remember where. But I'm pretty sure something like this will not be possible due to 1 mechanic. There will not be construct to construct collisions in the game. This means you can not ram other ships to cause damage and these types of weapons will not be possible. Then again i could be wrong not sure. This is also being discussed in this thread. A challenge as big as exciting!) and that's not in the first priorities right now. But that could definitely be on the roadmap sooner or later. Maybe as a stretch goal for the crowdfunding campaign ?

  14. Nicely done I also have started to go to all the repeat post and try to link all other relevant post together. surprisingly easy with just a couple of keywords. I have noticed a couple of other ones that seem to be asked a lot, food and water needs and how logging out will be handled.
  15. You really should read a bit about a game before you start to post in its forums. All of these topics have been discussed at great length before or covered by dev blogs.
  16. All seem to be really good ideas. I really like the ramp and i am pretty sure the hud is going to be something like that. As for suggestions i would like to see some sort of conveyor system kinda like in SE, Stairs would be pretty awesome as well. catwalks, Maybe some sort of auto-repair system like in From the Depths. No way for it to keep you alive during battle unless your entire ship is made of them but will patch you up after.

  22. So as I read through the forums I find the state of it all depressing. Toxic fumes are starting to engulf the whole of the forums and no one seems to care. Instead of helping one another we belittle and degrade. So many post about the exact same subject from pure laziness. Instead of healthy debates we argue, fight, and bicker. We need to resolve these issues before it is too late. some of this is our fault and some the lack of moderation we have. No i am not attacking NQ-Nyzaltar only saying he/she is but one person and we the community should not rely on him/her. We should stop all the multiple post by pointing the OP to the original post about the subject and leave it at that. Maybe have the duplicate post removed? (pokes Nyzaltar) Ignore the trolls and put a stop to their fun. if you make it not fun for them they will stop. Personally I want the community to flourish and be one of the best, but how the forums are going I have stopped posting for these reasons and I am not going to continue to waste my time repeating myself on the same fights over and over again with the same counter arguments over and over again.
