You are not buying the game, they are asking you to support them them so they can make a great game.......and to thank you for your support you get perks and privileges from the Devs for your faith in their vision.
 
Please don't get confused between entitlement because you bought access and a simple finalised game.
The difference between them are big and the requirements to create it are very different.
If you want to play instancing games or mini multiplayer games enjoy the selection you have at your fingertips.
 
You also know that it is clearly stated that the game is under development and will not always be available in its development phases during pre-alpha, and alpha for longer interval sessions, eventually moving into full 24 hour in beta when most people will want to start taking part as most of the basics have been ironed out.
 
Also you buy the supporter packs knowing all this......before hand so there should not really be any grumbling.....
 
Disclaimer: you are joining a game that is under development. While you will be able to play and we hope you will enjoy the game, this is a real Pre-Alpha and as such, you must expect the following : The game servers are available once per week (Each test date & time is available at the top of the Dual Universe homepage) The Pre-Alpha phase is under strict NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement). It means you cannot share footage of the game. There will be bugs, game crashes and the client isn't optimized for low specs computers. As we are in Pre-Alpha, not every gameplay feature (such as PvP and the Economy) is available in-game. You can check the homepage in order to see what is available now and what will come later. You can also check the community Trello for more information.

NQ clearly outlined that alpha would not start out 24/7.  I didn’t even question that the servers weren’t up 24/7 when pre-alpha launched.  Once again, this was discussed many times before alpha due to the French labor laws.  
 
If your goal is to simply play the game.  Do NOT buy into the pre-alpha access for sure.  Heck, if I were you... I would wait until the servers come up online 24/7 before even putting a cent down.  Since that seems to be your desire.  These packs are solely for people who believe in the vision of the game.  The patron pack is for those who wish to help NQ stress their servers so we can break stuff, and NQ can fix it.  Thus allowing us to get closer to the 24/7 servers.  
 
There’s nothing wrong with taking a step back, and seeing how things shake out.  And if the game is in a state you can get behind... then you should hop on
 
It’s also important to note that you get quite a bit with these packs.  12 DACs is equivalent to 12x15 euros?  So you’re not just buying early access.  You literally get the equivalent in game time.
 
Addressed to all:
I cannot be more abundantly clear than the following:  If you don’t wholeheartedly believe in a project... do NOT back it.  It’s best for both parties.  You don’t feel ripped off if things don’t go as planned, and the development team does not have to deal with unsatisfied backers.
 
So many crowdfunded projects become a cluster fumble because backers expect more than is promised.  NQs promise is to do their damnedest to make the best space exploration/civilization/building/conflict MMO in existence.  Could the project completely fall apart for some reason?  Sure.  But when you look at the track record of NQ and the amount of heart and soul they’ve put into the community and the game itself... I don’t think that’s likely at this point
 
In the end, I hope you stick around (whether or not you buy a package or not).  The community of DU is truly unprecedented in many areas.  And I’d say this is mainly because of the team behind it, they are responsible for cultivating this community.

They are here to watch... stuff and... things...

Personally, I don't think solo play is practical. Yes, its *viable*, and you can play by yourself and probably do decently well. But were people are really going to shine, is playing with other people. Even if its just one other person, it could (and most definitely will) make the game easier, safer and faster for you.

As far as the following is concerned, it is purely the opinion of myself and has no relation to the orgs position on the map whatsoever for reasons true or false.
 
Opeans, SE, Ez D, all fighting amongst themselves for who should make the majority of their landmass. They're the good guys and need absolutely zero explanation, forget their questionable history, it means nothing!
The Terran Union is a pretty ancient org in the history books and home to the greatest concentration of members. They're prone to fractures and could easily split up into a bunch of different groups.
Polestria, New Gen and VMD aren't on anyone's radar.
Empire obviously wants to have an.... empire... that will be mostly nothing...
Alpha Academy and GSLU are basically more neutral than neutral while the DU Historical Society just wants to be left alone. Seriously, they mean it this time this time.
 
Frog Swarm, that place is a disaster zone right now, lots of civil conflicts from what I've heard. No travel advisories are in effect.
TEN, not seeing eye to eye with its parent org split off and is doing its own thing and has found itself surrounded by a bunch of smaller orgs. The question is will those surrounding orgs hunt or be hunted by their militarily focused brethren...
BOO is expanding like the cancer that it is. I'm sure we'll hear about them quite often in the intergalactic news, always causing conflict wherever they go. 
You'll often call up Silverlight for construct tech support. You'll be hard pressed to understand their technical language however so you'll be asking them to repeat themselves often before giving up and just having them do it themselves whatever it was they were talking about.
Vanguard is a bunch of mercs who will kill you but by the end of this sentence... oh well.
 
The DU Explorers are exploring an uncomfortable place no one else ever wants to go. Hey Jimmy, there's a red giant there, better mark it.
Stargate Command (I think, light blue, east-central africa) is commanding a whole lot of nothing as of the present time since the game isn't even out yet.
Objective Driveyards isn't something you hear in the news or read about in the forums, Soul Nebula, however, is a different story.
Blue Moon Tavern, they're just chillin' and sipping margaritas on the beach. 
AFED fell off the top 30 so they get what they get.

Agree, can't add more than this. For example a very large org that "finds" an entire solar system: It will work to ensure it keeps not only "first dibs" but "all dibs" after constructing a Star Gate.
 
That said, the power of encouraging a colonizing players who LOVE building may throw another layer of complexity to that initial simple picture.

Sure, it's going to be possible by some of the larger Orgs, but then that's part of the game.  I doubt most of them will be making it a living hell for anyone else who wants to live there though.  They would probably be inviting people to move in, set up towns and cities and all of that.
 
Now if a really big pirate org  (not naming any names, mind you) controls an entire planet, it might not be as friendly to outsiders. But then that might end up being one of the more fun planets to visit when you're bored.  Nothing is quite as fun as poking a sleeping bear sometimes, lol.
 
Regardless, relax and let the universe take the shape it will.  It is going to be so interesting to watch it evolve.  Besides, it would be pretty boring if the Devs start telling people where they can live and what territories they can control.  That's what I hate about traditional MMOs; you get one little "plot" and you're done.  Some of us want more ... much, much more.
