OH I'm sure all the orgs are trembling at the idea of you revealing there conspiracies publicly, i can tell you that on the BOO discord we were all beside ourselves with panic and in full cover up mode.  Propaganda teams were mobilized PR firms retained and cleaning crews on standby.

You are just plain paranoid and delusional. I'm sure you see dead people, too.

1: The game hasn't even started yet and you're already paranoid about how an org will behave just because the use the word "pirate".
2: Your obsession with the need to control a large group is all in your head. People obsessed with order and rules might be compelled to grief in order to control, but not everyone is obsessed with order, rules and laws.
3: I think you spend more time fabricating your own warped reality than Cybrex spends holding interviews with prospective members.

RELAX. It's just a game. And, really, it's not even a game, yet!

So, just yesterday, BOO had reached 100 members. An outstanding achievement! However, should we really trust them?

I'm OutlandishRep. You haven't seen me yet, but I'm not real friendly, ok? See, I'm a critic, and BOO has given me plenty of reason to be critical.

Well, let's just get into it.

BOO :: The Pirates, or something

Yes. BOO. The remainder of COPS lead by Cybrex. Kind of interesting, but at the same time who are they? They're an organization comprised of members. As far as what their organization claims, it wants them to be a bunch of pirates. However, Cybrex is against griefing, so does that mean they won't grief? Of course not! They are going to grief, because as it stands, there is no way control can be maintained over the members. As well, if they grief, so what? They get kicked out of the organization? That's all that happens!

Cybrex has setup an organization that has no control! What does it even offer? Protection from BOO? In that case, everyone join BOO. You'll get protection, but really you're not getting anything else. All it does is boost their numbers. See! There is no way you can enforce anything while in BOO! It's such a loose cannon that you can't claim it's structured, or has anything resembling a structure. It's a group, and that's final.

    Freedom? You sure about that?

Are you? From what I've seen, it's not a freedom org. Infact, it's not even an org as I've said. It's just a bunch of false claims of "Cooperation" and "community".

As quoted form their description on their community page,

"BOO wants to break from that, and simply encourage solo and cooperative play among it’s members. Your time belongs to you, and we understand that. When Dual Universe launches, we plan to be the premiere organization for players who enjoy the outlaw lifestyle. This can be in the form of piracy, smuggling, mercenary, privateering - you name it."
    Quote from BOO description-13/9/2016

First of all, what cooperative play is there to be had around pirates, smugglers and mercenaries. There is none!

You can claim all that but really what can you offer. There's only so much, and offering cooperation with this audience is outrageous.

Now when your a part of BOO, it's offered that you'll be safe with their security network.

"• Security in numbers: Our safety network will you keep you and your assets safe."
    Quote from BOO description-13/9/2016

Now not only is it insane to think that BOO would actually have members that want to protect your stuff, it's more insane to think that your safe with each other! These are pirates, not guards. The reality is, they'll probably raid and grief each other when the opportunity is present. Not to mention, protecting every member of BOO would be impossible with those creating pirate bases and so on. It's not possible for them to make this claim.

Now, freedom. What freedom? This freedom:

"• Freedom: We want you to play how you want, when you want."
    Quote from BOO description-13/9/2016

I'm so, so laughing right now. That's not freedom. That's simply going online when you get a chance, something most other orgs already offer! Sorry but organizations don't require their members to log on every 10 hours just because. They require their members to simply be present once in a while if at all! This idea isn't unique, and it sure isn't what BOO should be putting up front, because i'ts an absolute lie that only they offer this!

    I have more though.

    Are you really that strong?

Are you BOO? Are you? I don't think you are. See I've been doing research and have found something interesting. If you do your research, you'll find that BOO has been getting a lot of members lately. It's not normal but Cybrex just went onto say that it was a group from EvE that he knew. I'm calling bull on that one.

We see an numerous of amount of members join here. What's strange though is that they are pretty consistent in their spike. An average of about 15 members join each day over 6 days. That's a lot of members and shouldn't normally be suspicious in my opinion. Unless you take a look at something.

These members consist of names that are a little too generic. What's more? Most of these members joined on the same day that their accounts were created!

Not only does it not fit with any normal pattern, it also means that they are getting members that just join Dual Universe community site. Now I tried to contact them, but most of the accounts are solely based on the community site. That means that they didn't even bother to join the forum site!

Even if Cybrex's claim is true, that these are members from EvE, that doesn't mean they'll be active. As you saw, most of these people didn't join the forums, so why would they join the game? Now, I'm going to list some other accounts that joined BOO on the same day that they were created.

    -StrykerJohn
    -Potatowalker
    -emeraldcobal
    -SmittyButler
    -Zodiac
    -Professionalmidget
    -Pheonixend

    -DukeBaromoore
    -Cafeteriasoup
    -PrettySliced
    -Candetta
    -thestOrm
    -Ironstahli
    -Porkins

And there's plenty more. All of those accounts had no bio, no location, no profile pic and joined BOO on the same day they were created. Also to my knowledge, none of them joined the forums.

The Conclusion :: BOO, you idiots!

You are going to fail to make your claims in your current state. You are going to fail to provide safety for your members. You are going to fail to become an actual org. Fix yourself while you still can, or get out of here!

You've given us reason to doubt you and we all know that this is super suspicious! Even if you, Cybrex, didn't cause all this trouble, you're responsible for it. Fix it, make things decent again, and I'll fully relinquish my claims. Give me actual evidence though.

Thank you all and if your an organization leader and make mistakes like this, I won't hold back anything against you.

Why punish my playstyle? Because I don't play like you want me to? Because your way of playing is the only one allowed or best? These people nowadays....

Why not learn to avoid scamms (it's not that hard you know, all scamms are pretty obvious)? Why not learn how to defend yourself against pirates (it can push your gameplay a lot!)? Why not figuring out tactics to avoid 'unsafe' environment (it involves brain, work and curiosity...No f1 monkeys)? Yeah yeah I know, I'm Don Quixote here in saying such things

And that's the exact way it should be in a sandbox - YOU have to do something, YOU have to enhance your gameplay, YOU shape the universe/your surroundings/your playstyle. People always want to rely on OTHERS to do that kind of stuff for them (in implementing some crazy mechanics) but that's not the point of a sandbox.

I agree that there HAS to be a safe zone for really young characters where they learn the first steps and can build up a bit. But it is CLEARLY VISIBLE AND UNDERSTOOD by all players that, once leaving the safe zone (you know, where all the fun is), any interaction with other players might happen. So no need for whiners and butt hurt people. There will be Orgs (like EveUni) who teach those newbros and tell them about the mechanics ("how to survive the first 500meter out of the safezone while pirates are camping there"). There will be players who gather newbros and they will assault those campers.
But I can assure you: it will be like it always was. People will ignore all mechanics. People will ignore others who tell them it's dangerous out there. People will ignore the very basic preparations in order to go outside (like caring for enough food, better armor, shields, weapons). They will die horribly there and will start whining on the forums to "nerf griefers!", "pirates OP!", "there should be mechanics to avoid getting killed in order to play safe!".
Been there, done it, saw it. Whiners never change

I like being a jerk and messing around with people in sandboxes, that's the whole point of it: because they are the only games where I'm allowed to.

An npc like police is nice, but iirc devs said no to them. I think they will come up with something similar to like high security space beyond those 20km radius around the arkship. Because those 20 are not much with thousands of players

Well you tolerate the fact that they know there is a safe zone without PvP and once they wander outside, they automatically agree to any interaction with other players

guttertrash reacted to ATMLVE in Don't Make a 'Best Version' of Anything
This is something common in regular multiplayer games but I feel in a game with crafting, it can become somewhat of an issue. What I'm suggesting is to not make a 'best version' of anything. What I mean is, since most items will be craftable, don't make there be that one greatest version that everyone aspires for. A standard model for crafting games is starting with the lowest tier, with each upgrade above that increasing all of it's stats, to the point where at some point you get the ultimate form of that item.

You hear it all the times in games; people say they have "max everything". Whether it be full diamond armor and tool set, a 48 slot ship, or the 'black hole gun', they go for it as an end goal and once they reach it, they have nothing left to do.

I think it is important for a game like this to avoid that, and to do so I suggest everything has at least two different stats which are somewhat inversely proportional to each other. This is of course not a new idea; racing games see cars with fast speed and bad handling (and vice versa), multiplayer games have different weapons that all have varying amounts of different stats, but none that stands out as better than the other. It's just preference and application.

And this by no means is a suggestion only for weapons! They're just a good example. I am suggesting this for all types of objects and items; mining equipment, scanners and communication equipment, ore refining equipment, engines, reactors, etc. All of these objects, if given even just two stats that cannot simultaneously be maxed out, ensures that there will always be diversification and a rich economy.

    What this does is:
    1) Take away an end-game goal for people. Many might aim for the top-tier items and, upon obtaining those, be at a loss for what to do next and grow bored.
    2) Add growth and variety to the economy. This is what we don't want, and I can see it now... "Max stats" a search term in the ship store, and the most popular ships and structures (the only ones people are interested in) are those that contain the top-tier of everything.
    3) Add strategy to factions of any and every size and skill level. No faction can ever reach the point of being as good as they can be, because there are always different ways to use different items.
    4) Basically, ensure that no one can ever be the best. (Sorry Ash)

I think it is important, if it is agreed upon, that this become implemented at the beginning of the games life. Because if it is not, it might get very difficult to implement later on.
What are some thoughts of yours?
