  1. No creative mode for now, maybe in one of expansions (I hope not) as I want to interact with players who are building and doing stuff and not watch constructs spawning everywhere from nothing. Creative mode in Dual Universe is inside safe zone and IMO that is more than enough. Also I have never ever seen price drops during alpha/beta, usually they become more expensive - just compare prices at kickstarter and now - early backers took higher risk and got more for their money, why would you even think about that as it would effectively screw every single person who pledged before and spent more for same rewards for trusting in project? Usually these pledges as we have now will stay up to live release, so just wait for free trial period that will come with it and try it for free.
  2. At this point in time and space it is really impossible to figure out what will happen and when, I am sure that there will be expansions that will change a lot in how we build ships. Flying cubes in space are fine, if I would engineer space ships probably they would all be cubes due to easy of docking and forming bigger structures, no wonder minecraft uses cubes to build stuff and imagine specific size cubes with life support just sticking to each other and forming a city. Also storing ships inside other ships is easier if they are same size and simple shape. From PvP perspective most important thing to know is - will there be armor and how it will work, maybe 20 layers of armor would be better than shields, maybe we will have ships with huge "shields" in front to absorb damage, maybe we will have ships as small and as fast as possible so they are harder to hit. But judging by how much money and time players are spending on cosmetics for their avatars I would say that majority of players will care what they are flying and how it looks like, but the beauty of Dual Universe is that we players will develop and change together with universe around us and our constructs will evolve over time, will be a lot of fun even if we end up flying giant cubes

  4. most pvp ships will be kamikaze manned cockpits with guns zergs will rule the universe!
  5. you can always make a slow hovercraft that looks like a horse and experience exactly same.
  6. but you already can dock smaller crafts inside bigger, just take off in one of those, escape pods are essentially same
  7. There will be no construct splitting in parts, even if you cut it in half it still will be one construct and act like one. This is compromise for single shard universe and I don't see any way that we can have many parts floating around - too much stress to servers already.
  8. So you wont to rob me and other players from opportunity to stay nearby and watch something beautiful being build and just see empty field and then BOOM something appears from nowhere just because someone wanted to build it in "offline" instance and import afterwards? Totally immersion breaking for me. Or someone who flies by and sees a huge construction site and wonders if he can offer his mining/hauling services, so he lands and starts to chat with you and this wont be possible because most big constructs will just be spawning from "thin air"? I am completely against creative mode - it takes development time away from other features just to drop loads of players into invisible instances and spawn constructs. I know why you want it, I just think it is better for everyone if we can interact with each other while we are doing our thing and also building in real environment is harder than in creative mode so it brings higher sense of accomplishment. But it is developer call, if they want to make another game with creative mode or stick to single shard universe.
  9. I wouldn't worry about casual players at all - you will make friends and you will find similar minded players so it should be easy, there will be organizations that will help such players, there will organizations that will allow you to join them as it is really social game, that's why asking for casual player to be able to build cities alone makes very little sense, city must be serious accomplishment and be done in a huge group, there definitely will be such projects and you can always join any of them. Also if you are willing to spend real money on DACs and sell them in-game to other players then I expect even you alone can build a huge city, just buy all resources you need and go straight to building, it might not be cheap but it will definitely be possible even for casual players. Also more money in-game you have more players you can hire to help you effectively putting you in control of huge player group, same as big organizations without being in any
